Yup teams will ask for a guy like allen or fast or lindberg...someone we don't want to give up. - RAGSareDANGERus
Not saying Allen sucks but boy is he looking really shabby this preseason. |

I think I have lost all hope for the Ranger fanbase, this place is my only salvation.
People on blogs and especially on facebook just do not get this 51 contract thing, news of having to get rid of a contract to accomodate Duclair has people now trading Nash, Staal, Girardi. I am sorry to say, but we have some really dumb people rooting for our team. - jimbro83
But Jim, if we are going to trade a contract it should be Nash. He is an albatross remember? |

I thought he looked good his 1st game, last night, he would show glimpses of skill, then look lost. Maybe another DZ? |
|

My thing with Duclair, is if they find a way to keep him, I think he needs top line minutes. Kid has some sick skills. - mdw7413
I can't see him taking Nash or Kreider's spot on either line though.
Only feasible thing I can see is them moving Hagelin to the fourth line and Duclair the third line slot.
If that is the case, Malone is going to be in Hartford at the start and Glass the healthy scratch. |

Allen hasn't shown me much this preseason. Out of the fringe defensemen I think Hunwick has looked the most steady.
Kostka, Kampfer, Allen and McIlrath haven't done anything to separate themselves and grab that seventh spot. |

Yeah, I'm thinking the same exact thing.
And Hagelin on the 4th, just seems a waste. Thats why I would love Duclair to be here, but how does he fit. |

I could see a similar setup to last year where zucc and brassard were the "3rd line".
Nash - Stepan - Duclair
Kreider - Miller - MSL
Hagelin - Brassard - Zuccarello
Malone - Moore - Glass/Stempniak |

Yup, Hunwick out of all of them has probably looked the best overall.
Although McIlrath has looked much better, and lets be honest McIlrath isn't going to be noticeable unless he is hitting or fighting someone. I would say if I dont notice McIlrath its a good thing. |

I think Hagelin-Moore-Duclair is gonna be the 3rd line to start the season, just my guess. They looked pretty solid together last night against the Flyers.

Nash-Miller-MSL

Trade Troy Donnay for a 7th round pick, we don't need some of these low end projects, he's a towering pile-on - HankdaTank
I saw Donnay a couple of times in juniors and wasn't incredibly impressed. He's huge, but almost reminds me of a real, real poor man's Hal Gill. Can't really see him ever cracking the NHL roster.

Up and down. Maybe some AHL seasoning, but has the skills to be an impact player imo.
Probably be back with the big club, sooner rather than later. |

He should of had at least 1 goal last night. Grossman robbed his slam dunk attempt.
I have noticed with Hayes, he always looks pass first. Wish he would take his shot more. |

Nice, I would have been shocked if he made the team this year but good to have that promisng guy down in Hartford getting ready for an injury call up. |

Yeah that was a sick move. As for the passing must be a BC thing. |

I know it was a joke, and mine was meant to be very tongue-in-cheek. I know you're a good dude, and the comment that was a "Typical Flyers fan" was meant the same way, but a poster from here (not naming names) trolled in to start some poop. Definitely don't think any less of you.
I mean, any less of you than I do every Rags fan |

Definitely a great pick up. I'm excited about it. Haven't had a big skilled center on this team for awhile now.
That is if they keep him at center of course. |

I usually credit that to younger players playing more "timid and respectful" when they finally get their call up to play with Vets.
Default to Pass instead of shoot so they dont look like a selfish player, looking to make the smart nifty play instead of driving that puck towards the net. The more confidence a young guy like Hayes gets he might start thinking shoot first. |

I will say that a lot of fans from other teams are asking the latter part of your post. The NHL is definitely taking notice of this kid.
The way I see it is a talent like Reinhart or Ekblad is expected to play in the NHL right away. These guys played on the top lines for Canada at the WJC development camps. Duclair also played top line next to Reinhart and is a year older. So Duclair should have just as much of a chance to play in the NHL this year as they do considering he's talented enough to play top line for Canada and is a year older. |
