A few quick things:
1) Duclair blog up later today
2) As I said before, try treating other with respect. No name calling or other demeaning comments. We haveenough issues with fans of other teams in the blog create havoc at times - not all, as there are many who are awesome when they are in the blog - but others like to stir up trouble, don't turn on each other. Disagree repectfully. Just because a view is different, it doesn't make it right or wrong.
3) My quick view on the Duclair situation: where is the downside risk of having break camp with the team, beyond the 50+ contracts situation? His ELC means the year is burned anyway. He has shown enough in camp, regardless of the view on the level of competition. Duclair has obviously played well enough in camp, beyond the pre-season games, to warrant a spot. Goals, regardless of the competition, are goals, so you can't discount them totally because they are pre-season but I am sure AV and Sather and management are aware that the games don't count and the competition is less so than in a regular season game.

If he opens the year with the team and fails to show anything, send him back to juniors. There have been enough players who have jumped from juniors to the NHL lately, so he is a trendsetter. Where he was picked matters little. You guys know I call it as a I see it and don't have Rangers' blinders on, but I am struggling see why this would be a bad move in any regard.

You cant have a fact based prediction of how Duclair will do. Its all opinion. I have no idea how he will do. But he deserves the chance to prove himself. And I hope he lights it up. Youre the only person here who seems to be so sure he will fall flat on his face and wont admit there is a chance he will also do well.

Go golfing and easy with the insults. Based on your brief showing here you have produced more fodder to pick apart than anyone I could remember here in recent memory.

Does he? He is insulting several of us on how stupid he thinks we are. As far as I am concerned he lost that window of understanding and patience.

Agreed.

We won't be able to see if he can make the adjustments (with less space to make moves and better defenders) to play his style game unless he has a shot to experience that level of play.

With that said, he as a few more preseason games with more NHL-like teams to continue to show his progression and abilities at this level. I don't doubt that he may struggle a little bit, but it is not uncommon. I'm more interested in seeing if he can figure it out after struggling.

Yup, I think it will definitely be a learning curve in the regular season, but like you said, how fast does he adjust. That will be the key.

Right, just do what he does, close your eyes and punch your keyboard 5 or 6 times.
