I'd say each one of those guys has more starting experience than either Scrivens or Fasth. You act like starting goaltenders are impossible to find or acquire, so we should just grab a couple as cheaply as possible. I truly hope they work out, but history shows that you get what you pay for, and expecting simply "NHL-level goaltending" is setting the bar pretty low. Also, do you think good players simply can't come out of the third round, or the Oilers haven't drafted a decent one in so long that you doubt the scouting staff's ability?

If you're actually saying the Tkachev deal should be the straw that breaks the camel (MacT's) back then this is a really really sad day for hockeybuzz. I mean sure the guy has made some bad moves, he has also made some good moves, like every GM. More than ever the Oilers need some stability and you're advocating a GM shake-up over what? The Tkachev deal? Brutal.

The team was a mess when he came in. We aren't Detroit, New York or some other hot spot that UFA's want to come to.

Maybe give the team he's built a chance before ripping on the guy.

Luongo-Good goalie, but do you want a 5.3M cap hit til he's 43?
Miller-If you wanted to pay him 3 years 18M to be ever so slightly above average sure
