I was expecting more people to be upset, but almost everyone seems cool with it. Basically traded Brodie for Virtanen, which isn't the end of the world for the rest of us. This will be the first and last message board draft.

I don't think Willie has enough of his type of guys here yet to fully maximize the effectiveness of his system. It's gonna take another year or two to really get more players that fit his system better.

Absolutely.

SJ is the only one I see potentially. They seem to have lost faith in Niemi, and who knows if Stalock is actually good enough to be a starter, but you'd likely have to take Niemi back.

Or do you see ANA losing faith in Gibson/Andersen?

Stalock did get all the easy games last year and Niemi got all the tough ones.

I'm not writing off Desjardin. I said "could". But if the Canucks are going to be in the 8-10 range, I hope that the Coyotes find a way to be better.

I'm not so sure, McLellan himself has said it's an open job. But then again, everything seems to be up for grabs in SJ these days so who knows what's really an actual competition and what's just being said to light a fire under the team.
