I agree that has been the case at times. But he played real well last night.

I think it's all part of the learning process and hicups are expected. What I find impressive is the physical ability. with his long stride and reach, he can eat up ground in a hurry. Once he gets some experience and gets better positionally, I can envision him swallowing players up defensively the way Pronger does in the D zone.

I think this is a big game for Morin. If he can show he fits with this lineup, he could get himself some regular season games. I think he goes back to Rimouski no matter what in the end.
- PhillySportsGuy

But then who sits? I mean, from what I've seen, MDZ needs A LOT of work, but I don't think it's the best thing in the world for him to sit. Otherwise, I don't know who I'd sit in his place. Nik "Pylon" Grossmann actually looked good from what I saw.

Claude Giroux confirmed that he is a go for tonight's game against the Rangers. The Flyers captain said he would see about Thursday's preseason finale in Washington, while Flyers head coach Craig Berube said he'd like to get Giroux a second preseason game if possible.

Goaltender Ray Emery will get the start in goal and is slated to go the distance after Steve Mason played the entire game in New York last night and Rob Zepp played the full game in Newark on Sunday.

After the morning skate, Berube made some pointed comments about what he wants to see from his club over the next week. He said they are physically ready for opening night but also need to be mentally ready. The coach made no bones about the fact he is unhappy with the lack of competitiveness many of his veteran players have shown the last two games.

Berube said the club has not played a 200-foot game the last two nights. They have turned over too many pucks. They haven't been hungry enough for loose pucks, and haven't kept their feet moving. The coach said that things such as poor gap control and other bad habits can easily creep into the regular season unless the players go out and play the game properly day-in and day-out.

Part of being mentally ready to play, said Berube, is realizing there will be fallout from fans and media when things don't go well. He said his players must have the mental toughness to work through it and follow the right process for winning.

The coach reiterated that while there isn't too much to read into the preseason and that he dislikes the preseason schedule the team has had, there is no excuse for not competing. Berube said he wants his team's identity to be that of a strong puck possession team and a solid team at five-on-five -- and believes he has both the personnel and the means of getting better in those areas -- but it will only work if everyone commits themselves to it.

He's starting to sound like Bill Barber.

What kind of razor blades are we talking about here?
- jmatchett383

The kind that hurt less than the feeling you get when you watch the once proud Star Wars franchise fall into farcical territory thanks to George Lucas' creation of Jar Jar Binks.

That's about how I see it. Whether or not he'll ever come close to Pronger's offense is not even up for dicsussion right now, but he should be able to become a top shutdown defender.

Well, are we talking about the ones on razors where it's the plastic case? If so, how many blades per? Or are we talking about straight blades?

Straight blades for Episode I but you can swallow the one's from razors with the plastic around them for Episodes II and III since Jar Jar was in those a lot less. Although there will be a separate decision to be made for Hayden Christensen vs. a fork in the eye.

Gostibehere could be up this season, but I feel he needs at least a half season if not more in the AHL. I see Morin about two seasons away. And a possibility for 16/17.
- MJL

I've been pleasantly surprised by Morin thus far. He's greatly improved his puck skills and his anticipation has improved as well. I've seen him make several quick passes to exit the zone. He certainly hasn't been infallible, but I have always had concerns about his lack of puck skills. I'm not as concerned anymore.

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he can be a 30 point guy.

I'm looking forward to seeing him tonight with a legit, top 4 dman and a full lineup of NHL players. This game represents his greatest opportunity to showcase his talent imo.

Schenn most likely. Berube has never really liked him.

I can't say I'm suprised, the Flyers took him that high for a reason.

If hours of playing Lego Star Wars with my kid has taught me anything, it's that Jawas say "Utinni". I think Ewoks are the "yub yub" guys.

I have officially chosen my team to root for out west this year: The Anaheim Ducks

Also, it makes it harder to repress memories of the prequels when you talk about them.

Can someone please explain to me why Boba Fett is such a beloved character? He gets like 6 minutes of screen time over the whole trilogy and is considered iconic.

Kevin Smith movies, ranked:

1.) Dogma
2.) Clerks
3.) Chasing Amy
4.) Mallrats (I realize this is blasphemy to some...)
5.) Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back (only really funny if you saw his other movies)
6.) Jersey Girl (not a typo...I kinda liked it. Don't judge me.)
7.) Clerks 2 (Eh. This movie probably should never have happened.)
8.) Red State (was this supposed to be scary? Meh)

- johndewar

Chasing Amy was awesome for the nhl94 scene alone. Great movies

Berube said he may take 23 players on the planned trip to practice in Cape Cod for opening night in Boston. Team officials have said they plan to carry seven defensemen into the season. If the Flyers carry 23 players for opening night, it means they will have 14 forwards. It appears that Blair Jones, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Jason Akeson are competing for two jobs with Jay Rosehill likely to be the 13th forward on the depth chart.
