Yea no difference between a former mid round pick with multiple seasons under his belt and an 18 year old with 0 games under his belt.

You're on fire

So, we can't critique the play of our 2nd overall pick yet? He's hands off until when?

Why is that wrong?

A first rounder should absolutely be a franchise quarterback. If you're going to draft a guy in the first round, and pay him that kind of money (yes, rookie scale taken into consideration), then it's not unreasonable at all to expect that. You draft a player in the first round to have the biggest impact. Otherwise, they should have waited until the later rounds. With the way that draft panned out, they could have waited until the 2nd, probably 3rd round and still ended up with Manuel.

- buffalofan19

To be fair, there are many guys that are touted as 2nd and 3rd rounder's that get picked early and pan out. I have no problem where they took him. But, you are half correct. Yes a 1st rounder should be a "franchise QB" but the definition of a franchise QB is taken out of context. Andy Dalton and Joe Flacco are franchise QB's. Realistically, Manuel needs to get to their level or he is a bust IMO.

Like I have said before, Rodgers, Brees Manning etc aren't available every year. There is a reason they are considered top 5 QB's for a decade+

He's 18 and there was always a strong chance he'd be sent back down.

Not worried, next topic.

it's a blanket statement without regard to the strength of the draft, where said first-rounder was picked and by whom they were picked...while I agree that they could've waited until the latter rounds to pick ej, they did get an extra pick by trading down and they selected kiko Alonso with that pick

And I defend Garth as well when the trolls are out of hand . When he shows his love for Grigorenko insisting he is as sure thing to make the roster this year . I bite my tongue . Stash may not like Garth. Whatever ? This all goes back to you constantly rubbing Bennett in our faces insisting what a mistake and flop Reinhart is . Don't change the subject . Hardly a time to declare any winner in the draft . I watch the games there are many things in Reinharts game I see that please me , even though he has not lit it up yet.

I'm not declaring anyone a winner yet just providing a snapshot that for some reason is not allowed and don't tell me what I can discuss and not discuss, thanks.

There is a difference between critiquing the play of him and getting all up in arms cause the guy you picked had an article written about the nice things he as done.

How about you look at the difference in the player. Bennett is that guy who is gonna have good things written about him and then bad things when he doesn't show his potential. It's the type of player he is.

Reinhart won't have those bad articles because he isn't that flashy player that makes risks and won't work all the time. He is the steady guy that will make those around him better. You wanted Bennett we get that but if you keep coming around and posting every pat on the back article about him it's going to p!ss of a lot of people.

Hardly , when your agenda is transparent like yours . To keep dwelling on how we should have drafted Bennett over Reinhart . Hardly time to make that call yet . You may resume your campaign in 3 to 5 years when a better judgement can be made . Bennett may be better right now . Come back when we are a contender and Bennett has already peeked and Reinhart is becoming a star. Your agenda has become old and neither player has played a real NHL game yet.

I still would've traded down.

Could've taken Long or Hopkins and used the 3rd rounder on Barkley, Nassib, or Manuel.

He just went from a 4-12 or 5-11 season to a 6-10 or 7-9 season.

And sadly disappointed when Orton of his career 58% passing percentage does just as bad or worse.

Orton is who he is a NFL backup for a reason.

Your act is getting tired and neither player has even started their career . Bennett is wonderful . But Mr Murray thought the player that fits his plans is Reinhart . Enough already.

Can't remember who said it, may have even been you, but I think the kid deserved at least another game or two. 1/4 of an NFL season isn't enough. It's not like he was 0-4 and THE reason the team lost (based off of turnovers or horrible mistakes).

Oh well...time to see a replacement get a win or two and then slump just as bad.

Let Orton call his own plays , anything has to be better than Hackett.
