I bet they feel worse. At least we still have Watkins.

They gave us the 1st AND 2nd round picks for this year along with Moulson. All for a guy that's not on the team anymore.

I would think that's gotta hurt more.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Orton win a game or two in the next few weeks. After that, forget it. He's a backup quarterback. It's what they do. They're there to spell for a couple of weeks at a time.

If Fred Jackson didn't make a few incredible plays I don't think we would have put up any points, maybe this season. Fred has bailed us out a ton and it's only week 4. Buffalo is in a bad position this year and no 1st next draft is not helping us 1 bit. This is very upsetting. Is this how the islanders are gonna feel this season?!?!

freddy being freddy...

btw, does anyone know where cj's been outside of that return?

He had a few nice runs last week that got cancelled out by penalties.

Oh, and Hackett seems to think it's a good idea to try and get him to run up the middle. Which isn't really his thing.

He's also bad in pass protection, so that limits putting him in there and ending up with one of the checkdown passes that Jackson has managed to pull in and get some good yardage out of.

Leino released by Boston....
For a second there, I thought he was going to end up on a good team, play well, and make the Sabres look even more foolish than they did when they signed him...

You'd think after being on the same team as Fred for this long, he'd have learned a thing or two about improving his pass protection.

The fact that he's so bad at it tips the defense off as to whether they're looking to run or pass the ball. If CJ's out there, probably a run.

If I can figure that out sitting on my couch at home, it's probably even more obvious to the defenders.

From NFL.com

14 C.J. Spiller BUF RB 52 13.0 207 4.0 51.8 0 47 9 17.3 2 1 1

32 Fred Jackson BUF RB 32 8.0 152 4.8 38.0 0 38 6 18.8 1 0 0

They've run the ball 84 times between the two of them in four games. That doesn't count the carries to Dixon in weeks 1 and 2.

Orton ain't great, he's average. EJ was below average. Easy decision.

The throws EJ misses on aren't because he needs "time to develop" they are because he isn't accurate and that will never change.

Time to start taking chances on QB in 2nd and 3rd rounds. It can't hurt.

does that sight say that 95% of the time spiller dances around before he hits the hole?...and does it log how many times he thought he could bounce it to the outside and beat the d like he did in college only to fail?

did that site mention running cj up the gut on a third and one at midfield vs. san diego when they were moving the ball well?

sorry...i'm in an ornery mood...don't take anything personally

"You can't trade for a real franchise QB, and they are next to impossible to draft outside the first round."

If all that's true, don't we have to conclude that just before or during the 2014 draft, the Bills decided they were going to go "all in" with Manuel, and give him through the end of the 2015 season to develop? Is there any other explanation for their decision to trade away the first round pick?

Forget about how the guy has played this year: now, only four weeks into the 2014 season, they are completely reversing fields. It this kind of "scrapping the plan" and failure to live with a commitment that drives me crazy in any organization - but especially when the plan is hardly even implemented before its abandoned.

I HATE THIS DECISION.

CaptEO said that HockeyBuzz is getting revamped and the rollout should be coming soon.

He mentioned one new feature the new site will have is an "ignore" button.

Oh, I'm fully aware of what one is. But you come in here stomping your feet all the time telling everyone else how wrong they are all the while saying you're entitled to your opinion.

If that doesn't scream hypocrite, nothing ever will.

- HonkFortheGoose

I posted an article that I saw on Fb from HockeyNews today and the poop hit the fan. I don't say everyone is wrong, that is where you are wrong. I only ask why are hands are off our highest pick since Pierre Turgeon. I also have said he probably won't be a bust but others change what I say to fit their agenda just like you did. See, that is why I'm not sure why you have "hypocrite" nailed to a tee.

"Sticking with the plan" most likely guarantees this group gets fired.

Reversing course probably does as well, but at least there's an unknown.

In my usual "negative" tone, I said last month that they don't have a good enough quarterback on this roster. I'm completely ambivalent to this move.

Then, it will be interesting to see what EJ haters will want then. Keep Orton in the lineup or will absence make the heart grow fonder and call for EJ again?
