I get CI at reduced rates. Still hate all the no HD
- Jsaquella

Yeah the constant non HD availability coupled with Comcast's ownership of feeds always resulting in receiving the non Comcast feed when out of market as well as the fact that my out-of-market area includes the market areas of the Rangers/Devils and Islanders - makes it's not worth my while.

Just hope he isn't rushing back and aggravating whatever his issue is.

That'd be a huge issue for me if I was out if market.

I hate watch the Pens or Bruins feeds for Flyers games

Dude, you're not kidding. I watch nearly every game of the regular season - maybe miss like 5 out of the year and only get to see the Philly feed maybe 2-4 times a season no joke.

HD's been around since, what... the mid/late 90's? It's 2014 and we still can't get sports packages in full 1080i/720p. Can't imagine how long we'll be waiting for true 1080p and 4K.

I don't think Gagne in 2014 is better than B Schenn or Matt Read. He could perhaps be an upgrade over Umberger or Raffl, but with his injury history, is he really a guy you want to rely on?
- BiggE

Raffl is much better than Gagne now.

They still do that? That's infuriating.

I guess I'm lucky, I spent a season watching College hockey low res and got used to it and those AHL in game feeds I find hilarious. I have no idea why. I feel like I'm in an obstructed view seat.

Comcast also has complete control over their feeds and will not submit their feed as an option even if you're out of market. So you're stuck with whatever feed the team the Flyers are playing is - and better yet when the Flyers play the Capitals (both Comcast owned) the Flyers feed isn't available.

They do that because a huge selling point in Philly area is lack if availability for Dish to carry Comcast SportsNet Philly. They use an old loophole to get by it, but it's available on Fios

I think the control of the feed is true only of the Philadelphia feed because it is cabled not satellited.

I hate whoever the yahoo is on the DC broadcast team who did the first preseason game. He sucked so bad in with the Flyers guys that I couldn't watch the game. I should have said jetlag be damned and gone down to the WFC.

The Capitals color guy Craig Laughlin? He's been the color guy with them for years. His voice and delivery/cadence are most definitely off-putting but he's actually pretty sound.

That's not quite right; I'm out of market and I get lots of JJ and Keith Jones/Bill Clement. It's when they play Toronto, sometimes Ottawa, that it's tougher to get the Flyers feeds -- at least that's been my experience. It can be dicey when they play Carolina, too, for whatever reason.

That's because the NFL product has slowly been getting progressively worse over the past 5 or so years.

I really want to see Laughton make the team. Not because of any thing other than I think he's ready and playing last year in the OHL was akin to an AHL season for him. I thought he came into camp trying to do too much. Once he settled down you could really see his game coming all over the ice.

Hopefully Morin will make it on the back end for a few regular season NHL games. I'd like to see that as well.

I'm fairly certain Ghostibehere will crack the line up this season. Grossman isn't going to hold up unfortunately.

- mayorofangrytown

I have to admit, that previously when I read your statements that Gostibehere will on the Flyers at some point this season, I thought you were crazy. After seeing him play more, I don't find it as far fetched. I still have doubts that will happen. Injuries could force the Flyers hands. But I don't see Grossmann not being able to make it through the year. And if he couldn't, in his role, I see the Flyers making a minor trade to replace Grossmann if they aren't comfortable with Schultz full time. Now if Del Zotto doesn't play well, then I see that more likely.

When you live outside the market you take what you get and like it....I buy the Hockey package every yeay and technically should be able to watch all the Flyers games....regardless of what broadcast, Flyers or opponents, but because the flyers are a popular team and on the NHL Network atleast 10x per year, those games are not on my package b/c it's on NHL Network, which is not carried by my local Time Warner Cable. So up to the balls.....thank you very little....

I think B. Schenn & Couturier showed improvement. I think Gustafsson showed flashes when he wasn't benched.

The difference is, the rest if the young guys showed more talent & ability, so even if it was minor improvement it was still a stronger baseline to build on

- Jsaquella

And i agree i just think if this new gm and first full year coach wanna give a scrappy but often undisciplined guy the opportunity to prove himself this year then so be it, even if it somewhat contradicts the rationale they applied to other players... Perhaps there's a method to their madness... I know there is with mine.

Aw yes, the wood nymph as he was so graciously dubbed on draft day on this very board ... Anyway i know bill spoke about or quoted one of the coaches as saying he needs to work on what he does without the puck... Couldnt he do that here? As you said watching him play made me believe he could this team this year, very dynamic with the puck.

Who could put up points which is exactly what this team needs on the fourth line. We aren't getting it this season though.

In my opinion, no. Throwing him right into the NHL is throwing him to the wolves. Let him get his feet wet, get stronger and used to the pro game, with a season in the AHL. And then see what happens next year. I think his game with the puck is already NHL caliber. But the regular season is a big difference from the pre season.

It's a Quasar, Marvel Comics style. You'll be sitting in a theatre in 3 years watching him in Gaurdians of the Galaxy 2.
