I haven't seen Kontiola play because of the fvcking blackouts here in MB. From what I've read on HB he hasn't done well. Down to the AHL or back to the KHL?

He has outpayed some guys for sure but he goes down. He will be up though with injuries.

Leivo! Let's hope so. Why do you have Kontiola making it? It's not the team's fault he bought himself out of his KHL deal only to find he can't keep up in the NHL. If he's going to be anything, he's going to need to figure out the NA game. That will have to be in the Ricoh Centre.

Nylander has not impressed me in any of the games he has played, I don't see anything "NHL" level about him, sorry, I call it as I see it.

Leivo as I predicted would be the standout of all the prospects.

Holland needs to clear waivers so he doesnt go down. Where does he fit though. I agree with him playing better than say Booth etc but that doesnt mean he starts. Vet gets the start. Thats how it will go IMO. Plus he isnt suited to a 4th line role Frattin would be better there IMO.

Yup. Fricken ridiculous. The Leafs games listed on 6 channels, all of which are blacked out so more people are forced to watch the Jets and Oilers if you want to watch hockey.

People remember him scoring 7g in 1st 10 games of the lockout year. Problem is after that he had knee surgery and hasn't been the same( 2 goals in last 65 games).


He's not close to good enough to make it right now.

Agreed but they don't cut him yet with only preseason done. He gets into regular season at some point and given a chance. If he continues to be a step behind they do something then.

I heard a compelling point to keep him in Toronto to play for the Marlies. The coach will be able to ensure Nylander plays in all the situations he needs to to continue his development. A coach back in Sweden won't have the same concerns.

if you dont see anything "NHL" level in him at all then i am happy to say im glad you are not a Leafs scout.

sure he tries to do too much and is a bit weak physically, but his skating and vision are NHL caliber without question.
