IMO Kontiola is visibly slow - he needs to work on that skating before hes going to make the team.

I actually agree on Kontiola, but I wanted to use his situation to make my point. This is the time where you make the team or don't. Guys like Leivo and Kozun have been busting their asses and looking a whole lot better than some of the players that will make the team.

From what I've seen I agree. The Leafs have a chance to go with some young, hungry guys who are outplaying older guys on the bubble. It wouldn't be right to send guys down if they have shown they deserve to be on the team.

But who would they drop instead?

I doubt the guys the they signed to one years are dont make the team.
I cant see RC foregoing a vet for a rookie that has deservingly earned the spot.

That's my point, and the problem. Clarkson might be hurt so that would allow a few games, and who knows what this foot injury with Booth will amount to.

Can you imagine being a young guy, couple years in the AHL and play your ass off at camp and get cut because of the aesthetics of not keeping FA signings on the team?

this. Kozun's energy has been great but I just don't ser him sticking once the full rosters show up. Doesn't seemas physically strong as say, Gallager or,some other little guys who've made impact like this.

if Leivo doesn't make opening night, then the whole "somebody's going to lose there job" thing was horsepoop. He's been one if the 4 best wingers in camp, and it isn't close.
