The players who have replaced Hall and Downie make the team look much more solid. Hall was a great guy, be he got destroyed at ES last season. Kimmo is the only player we lost that worries me.

I'll definitely admit we're deep as far as call ups, Umberger looked fantastic the only preseason game he's played so far and Streit looks primed to prove he's the number one defenseman over Coburn and MacDonald. All of which seems very promising.

To me it's like a company picnic. Just trying to get everyone in the organization in volved, while getting focused and getting their skating legs under them. I think this week we'll see more serious line ups as we come down to the wire for cuts. I believe Giroux will play the last or second last game of the preseason. I don't care who he is or how great he is. He's prone to a slow start, so he needs to see one or two exhibition games so he's ready for the first game of the season.

Gostisbehere has easily been the most impressive of the bunch so far. Brayden Schenn to me has had a really nice camp, he looka like he's ready to take a big step this year.

Stolzar the Giant has made some pretty good saves.
