And yet the Flyers just signed Stortini and traded for Rosehill a year or so ago
- Jsaquella

We can agree on this, the Stortini signing doesn't make any sense but we've hailed Hextall as our lord and savior for three months now.

Please don't do that. I'll be forced to make you watch Jsaq eat at the Phantoms game.

Trust me...it ain't pretty.

I agree but the moment you give up some role players like this and get pushed around, these teams look to enforcers to get tough again. Brian Burke picked up Brad May the moment he noticed the Leafs were getting pushed around and they were. The Red Wings have been probably the most successful team in the NHL for the last 23 years and it doesn't stop them from considering Aaron Downy or Jordan Too Too. Both of which didn't last but I'm willing to bet they'll explore other solutions.
- SuperSchennBros

Tootoo isn't exactly an enforcer. He fights, for sure, but he's more Zac Rinaldo than Jay Rosehill or Zach Stortini.

It's not about eliminating guys who can fight, it's about eliminating guys who can't play hockey and are only on the roster because they can fight.

One can only hope there isn't a C&P crab fries kiosk brought into Convention Hall for this game.

we're trying to figure that out now

something about snipers and Bob Ryab

- BulliesPhan87

Bobby Ryan is a very talented player. Last year, playing primarily with Jason Spezza, he posted an astronomical 23 goals, a follow-up to his (pro-rated for 82 games) 19 goals. Put him on a line with Giroux, and he'll easily score 70 or so.

TRADE EVERYONE TO GET HIM ASAP!

I understand. I really liked Donald Brashear while he was here. Tie Domi was an underrated player. Colton Orr believe it or not has some skill.

I'm cool with signing some bruisers to maybe help protect our prospects in the AHL, but that's a whole different animal than the NHL, obviously.

If Hextall wants to have a Stortini lumbering around the ice in LV to play security guard, fine, but I don't think it's makes a difference in the NHL

If that's the case, I'd rather him be signed to an AHL-only deal.

Hextall has made a few short term moves that I don't necessarily agree with. However, the long term ideas he has spoken about and followed thus far have me excited and happy with him.

Hextall's initial draft was great, on paper. There was no Garrett Klotz or Tyrell Goulbourne taken in round three, or Derek Mathers taken late instead of a skilled player.

Hextall avoided long term commitments in free agency and lessened the burden of one long contract by trading Hartnell for Umberger and tried like Hell to get rid of another

So, apparently, Vancouver put Markstrom on waivers. Wish the Flyers would have gone after him.

Edit: After trading our bums Voracek, Simmonds, Coburn, and Read for Ryan.

There are too many bums to get rid of on this Flyers squad.

They should just change the team logo to a picture of a hobo
