I love the nicknames that have nothing to do w/ names and have a story behind them... like Noodles, Moose, Toe, Chicken Parm, Mule, Boom Boom, Punch, Knuckles, etc. The only name-based nick that was ever any good was Cujo.

Exactly. That's what I'm always looking for too

Looking a bit like Sportsnet.ca now... but a bit less pretty and functional.

I'm glad they finally did something though... that old layout was impossible to use on mobile.

Thanks....I could see their ranking criteria. i figured(hoped) the Flyers would rank high.....I disagree with the Oilers.
- KINGKENZO

Oliers were helped by their Gretzky/Messier stretch. Flyers have won their division 16 times since entering the league. I think they've won the conference 9 times

I'd play him on the second pairing with Streit this season.

I think there’s a fascinating discussion to be had about how to optimize Andrew MacDonald going forward, but I’m almost certain it doesn’t involve playing first-pairing minutes through the 2020 season.

Exactly.

Two words: Brian Rafalski.

Just because a guy isn't on an NHL roster doesn't mean he can't play or can't improve enough to play in the league

lol. funny how you dont mention the dozens who didnt make it. the gus love is unbriddled in flyer land.

That is true -- but I don't have too many issues with their iPad app. I'm sure I'll get used to this one, too.

Glad to see Yost doing his thing for them, too

No, that's not the point. You're saying that just because Gus wasn't traded and wasn't on the Flyers roster says something.

It doesn't say anything. Because some guys are in the NHL who can't play, and some guys aren't in the NHL who can.

Michael Raffl could play in the league. He just wasn't. Colton Orr is playing in the league, and he probably shouldn't be.

It doesn't matter, anyway. Either he will or he won't, but whichever it is, it won't be this year.

Looks like the Devs have three legit NHL lines and five NHL defensemen going tonight, plus Tomas Kaberle, who looked shot two years ago

Devils lines (via Tom Gulitti):

Mike Cammalleri - Travis Zajac - Jaromir Jagr
Reid Boucher - Scott Gomez - Mike Sislo
Tuomo Ruutu - Jacob Josefson - Damien Brunner
Ryan Carter - Stephen Gionta - Steve Bernier

Bryce Salvador - Marek Zidlicky
Adam Larsson - Eric Gelinas
Peter Harrold - Tomas Kaberle

when gus signs with another team next year all the flyers really missed the boat on him, never gave him a chance, and all the other stuff that follows talk will be good reading. then i will be happy.

let me guess. your a brandon manning fan as well?

The Flyers have about 20 games in the next week, so they have to play their AHL depth guys over the course of the next few days just to ensure our regular guys don't die in the preseason.

If MDZ could carry his swagger from preseason forward, they could conceivable end up with:

15-5
8-32
47-22
