I could care less about pre season games as they mean absolutely nothing to me. I feel the Islanders did a good job getting rid of the trash on this team (even though we still have Bailey). I feel this team will be a lot better this year. Just give the clip board to Tavares and let him control the team. Cappy will be the only reason why this team will fail. Snow will fire him to late to save the season. the new owners take over next year and we will see a new coaching staff and maybe GM. So patience is needed |

A young an inexperienced defense will have nothing to do with it?
You guys complained about amac being forced to play 30 mins a game and think de haan ate up a lot of those minutes after the trade but what if de haan eventually starts to wear down a bit playing those same tough minutes every night? |

You have to admit we are a way better team then we were last year? I mean we have some offense defense we can use one more guy but I don't think it is the end of the world. Cappy does not know how to use guys strengths and hardly ever shakes up the lines or benches players when things are wrong. No discipline. this team needs that |

In fairness, with the depth of C's the isles have, it might be a good idea to play grabo w/JT bc he adds a speed element to that line plus is sound defensively also. Brock Nelson is much more valuable (to me) as a C than W. - Ur Not Me
I noticed on two breakouts Grabovski was playing the center position. (Tavares took the wing spot on the boards). I didn't get to see much of the game tho. |

I like the D Grabo can bring to the the JT line and I always liked having a big center like Nelson. |

no defenseman should be playing 30 minutes a night for us, not even 25. I'd be happy with dehaan seeing 20-21 minutes a night and hamonic around the same, get vis/hickey playing about the same and a third pairing getting the remainder. Granted it's not likely to work out as evenly, but we'll see how it goes. amac style minutes should not happen, but it is cappy.

You are better imo too but your GA will only go down a bit unless your defense as a whole tightens up. I see hamonic slotting in as a 3 on a contender or a 2 if he can get back to his level of play and consistency from 2 years ago. Vis is best as a number 4. Reinhart could be a top pairing guy but not yet. De haan could be a top pairing guy eventually too but should be slotted in as a 2nd pairing guy atm imo (hence why I think he could eventually break down a bit). Not sold on the rest of your defense. Grabo will help with defense as well though not enough to carry the subpar defense.
I know it was just preseason but your bad defense yesterday led to 4 goals against so I dont think you can expect a significant decrease in GA with jist a marginal increase in defense regardless of halak. |

I don't think it really matters where a player might be positioned on the ice bc with or without the puck, JT is best offensive weapon the isles have. |

Again to me pre season means absolutely nothing. this team has been together for what a week?? I am not going to judge the team until real games are played. Cappy I can judge cause he has always suck and I dont expect him to be much better |

Oh I’ll admit seeing 3 pp goals against pissed me off, but it is only preseason so at the moment it hasn’t hurt us. Maybe it’ll serve as a wake up call. - Isles_since_6
If it was during the regular season with a full team then yes so would I. Still hope they somehow bring in another D-man but we'll see |

Exactly these games are played to see what needs improvement before the season starts and to see who is hungry enough to make the team. Nothing more and nothing less |

pretty last goal. reinhart blast with Strome Tip in.
I would love to see Reinhart make team, But like you guys said, Doesn't matter. he going to Bridgeport. Or he may have to sit in skybox for 3 weeks to learn cappy's systems. |
