A young an inexperienced defense will have nothing to do with it?
You guys complained about amac being forced to play 30 mins a game and think de haan ate up a lot of those minutes after the trade but what if de haan eventually starts to wear down a bit playing those same tough minutes every night? - rangerdanger94
Amac played thrity minutes not because he was forced but due to our coach being incompetent. Dont confuse the two. |

So true!! Cappy needs to even out the minutes this year with our defense maybe then they can play without jelly legs |

Funny thing is wasn't even directed at you. It's the chronic complainers that I was referring to. You're not at the chronic stage yet - Vukota
From The Chronic Corner:
This team provides a never-ending supply of things to complain about.
But you're right, the sky isn't falling.
We've been standing on it for 6 years.
I did like what I saw very much in Nelson last night. He's big with a long reach and not afraid to go anywhere. Lee, I already like and think he deserves to stay. Reinhart looked comfortable with Pokka—not our 1st pairing but I think he should make the team, Pokka, not sold on 100%, yet. They have $9.5 mil invested in Grabovski/Kulemin. Grabo is a center and prefers to play with Kulemin. Players-wise I am concerned with where Strome fits in without asking a rookie to change his game. Nelson is a center. Bailey was a center too. Garth HAS to make a move. You can't protect/keep every player. This inability to make trades caused the loss of Nino. For a team that has the Isles track record, some prospects may not be willing to wait for the stars to align and that is why I am critical. Garth and Cappy act their hands are tied and they keep making the same mistakes. I'm begging for things to change but they give us no indicators that they will. We'll certainly see in a few weeks time. |

I know they have a lot of forwards and D to look at but they do need to get this down to a smaller group asap so they can start practicing specialty teams. Don't spend the next ten days auditioning JT's winger or keeping them all guessing. |

1. That was pretty funny
2. Agreed
3. 1st NHL game he really can't be judged either way good or bad
4. I really wouldn't worry about that. They have no leverage plus if this continues Snow & Cappy will be gone before they are NHL ready
5. This is the first year Cappy has some depth. This is a make or break season or months for Cappy to get this shat in order. If he can't do it he is gone and snow will be right behind him a few months down the road. No way the new owners are going to put up with this. I said this a month ago the new owners are going to want to bring in their own guys and anything short of a playoff run will end the Snow era. |

**WARNING** This post will contain some positive feedback from last nights game
Brock Nelson looked good last night. I think this kid is going to be real good.
Anders Lee is a beast along the boards and in the corners. Love the way he uses his size.
Reinhart is much bigger then I thought. Not expecting big things out him this year but he has the size and pedigree to be around for a long time.
Grabovski is going to have a huge year for the isles this year. Love his speed
Loved the Strome - Nelson - Lee line. - Vukota
Me too. They were noticeable on almost every shift, and of the three, Lee impressed me the most with some of the passes he was able to make while protecting the puck against defenders. Cappy, you seeing the same thing?
Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday
Capuano singled out Cizikas and Clutterbuck as "2 best forwards" for #Isles on Weds. Good for them, but bad for the top-9 guys who played.
Guess not!

Come on. There will be a day we can just laugh about his post game interviews not laugh and want to throw a remote at the tv simultaneously. Very strange sensation isn't it? Of course that day when we can just laugh about it will be when he is a distant memory like Rick Bowness. Its a bad situation because him going means the team losing as we all know. Unfortunate, horrible thing created by Snow. With that said I cant wait to see some hockey even with him behind the bench but I feel dirty saying it for some reason? I also feel bad because I've met Capuano twice and the guy is incredibly nice. Great guy. Just not the guy I want to coach the team I have an unhealthy addiction too. Hopefully I'm wrong and Snow is right but I'm going to be a bit of a skeptic till proven otherwise

Center Ice doesnt televise Pre Season games.
But the 1st week of the regular season is free for everyone.
NHL Channel televises 1 or 2 Pre Season games every night.

Hopefully this year is the last!
Guys, I need to discuss something serious. Your not going to like it but ...you need to come to terms with the fact that Cappy is the coach of the team that you love.
I know it's hard. I know you feel that you (we) deserve better. I know that you all feel this team won't reach it's true potential under his leadership. His post game interviews can be downright infuriating. His lack of adjustments makes you want to pull your hair out. I get it. Can we please move on to acceptance phase? Cappy is the FACKING coach! Right or wrong, good or bad, incompetent or just stupid! It is what it is. There is nothing we can do about it.
I'm with you, I don't like it either. I wish we had a proven coach, but we don't. However, we're losing sight of the fact that THIS Islander team is the most talented we've seen since 03-04. Can't we go into the season with a little (just a little) optimism? |
