That's the thing. Let's keep in mind, he wasn't even a standout in the Q until this year's playoffs. - prock
So when it counted!!!!
nice.

Just needs to put on some muscle, maybe fifteen pounds. Focus on building his legs and core so that he doesn't get so easily knocked off. He should look at Crosby as an example of how a smaller player should build up to be effective. Crosby is only 5'10 but no (frank)er knocks him off the disc... Apart from Steckel - lumlums

Considering how little he costs, it would be pretty dumb to trade him.
Get rid of Lupul instead. - Pecafan Fan
Lupul is fine, especially if he does end up with kessel again. It's Clarkson that we really have to worry about. |

Lupul isnt that pricey either.
Need to keep him around, I want to see what he does this season. - Fakepartofme
Why? He's a 50 point player. He's had ONE good season that went beyond that. |

So 50 point players are a dime a dozen? I think we shall hold onto this one a bit longer. |

After seeing Loops and JVR together last night, I don't hate Luke's idea of putting Clarkson in the safest place you can: alongside Bozak and Kessel (Where PK will get 30 goals regardless). Kadri between JVR and Loops
Be worth a try anyway |

He produces like a second line player on the second line, and like a first line player when with kessel.
I have no issue with him, especially if Dion doesn't slap any shots at him |

clarkson could become much more valuable if hes doing well...
i have faith in a jvr-kadri-lupul line - i think they would be deadly and other teams may put their #1 D and shutdown lines vs phils line opening even more ice...or vice versa for kessel.
Clarkson did super well when he played with Kovalchuck, why not give it a go with Phil...who will be dominant if you put him with Sjostrom and Kilger... |

He tends to be injury prone and selfish. Not really good in his own zone. I like the guy, he's got talent. When you want something in return (top dman or center) you have to give to get and Lupul becomes my "give". |

That's what I was thinking.....but bozak isn't Elias. It's funny, I've really grown to appreciate how good Elias is. Sykora, Gomez, Clarkson.....not the same guys without him. |

Who gives a (frank) if he's happy. He will have his BFF Bozak.
You think he was happy playing with Joey goddamn Crabb? Still netted 30 that year |

Hey, if they can parlay him into a Pronger, a la the Ducks of old, I'm all for it! Sadly, Nonis isn't half the trader that Burke was |

That isn't the logic here though.
The logic is that Phil is going to be who he is regardless of who plays with him. Clarkson is a liability everywhere else, but Kessel's scoring never suffers no matter who he's with. |
