I went on a little rant there, sorry, I think I was contradicting myself by wanting to move Higgins and Hansen and NOT sign Vrbata. |
|

Agreed, unfortunately there's a numbers game in the NHL sometimes, you can only have so many players.
To be honest, the Vrbata signing is the one signing that pissed me off this summer, although he was probably the safest bet. I would have really like for them to leave a spot open for a younger player to play in the league and prove his worth. Much like the Sharks did with Thomas Hertl last year.
Having Hansen and Higgins completely puts up a road block for these younger guys to make the team, we'll see what happens. - LeftCoaster
I think Horvat will stay. A goalie will be moved and a roster player before the season starts. Yes I am saying trade |

It's extremely hard to move a player right now or early in the season, they may have to sit tight for a month or two until some teams see what they have with their picked rosters.
If they've got total confidence in Miller, then trade Lack and Hansen or Higgins with a pick and or a propect to a team like Winnipeg that needs long term goaltending. |

no - I just know they're not happy with their goaltending and perhaps their depth? |

It is not a hate for Higgy.
He is vanilla . Nobody wants a vanilla team. |

true, but those players are needed at times.
Oilers need a few of those types. And right now, a couple vanilla guys that can be shifted out for prospects but still pop in when needed on the roster isn't that bad is it? |

Gotta make room for younger players. He's in his 30's. |
