not one mention of Ryan McDonagh in the Metro division prediction blog.

In the Atlantic blog, how many times will Subban be mentioned. 10? 20?

Stepan injured during drills. Knee or something. Had to be helped off ice in a lot of pain.

As jimbo has said, the bjs get more credit for losing to the penguins than the rangers do for beating them.

Jesus, hope all this is getting it out of the way for the regular season. He has been an ironman what the hell is going on.

Miller 2nd line center and Hayes/Lindberg 3rd line center opening night potentially?

No collision whatsoever. Was simply skating and collapsed in pain. Could be as bad as an ACL tear?

My bet is hyper-extended knee. ACL injury while skating doesn't seem right...

That would suck real bad. Rangers will be really light at center for the beginning of the season.

Hyper extended doesn't hurt that much though. At least when I did it, it wasn't that bad.

Just the fact he had to be helped off the ice, and was in serious pain really concerns me. Stepan might have some minor faults, but being tough is not one of them.

Maybe he just hates training camps. Held out last year and now injuries this year. Always something with Stepan. Hopefully he is ready to go in 2 weeks when the season starts.

Sounds to me more like a muscle pull/tear. Groin/hamstring mb. Only guessing, but that will drop you without contact, that's for sure.

Safe to say Stepan will be out for the rest of the preseason.

Just as long he didn't injure it too badly there should be no reason to be too concerned.

how about this thought, if Stepan is hurt for a signifiant amount of time, although he isn't a center, does that make giving Anthony Duclair at least a 9 game look at the beginning of the year more possible?

The fact that the injury occured with no collision is a huge red flag. That signals its not just a bump but rather a tear or pull. Judging from the tweets that say he was loudly expressing his pain and needed help to get up it doesnt look good at the moment.

all we can do is hope, when McDonagh went down a couple of years ago without a collision it certainly looked like he tore his knee to threads and he was fine, hopefully same thing.

Maybe caught a rut in the ice; non contact tweaks occur every now and again. The season doesn't start for a few weeks and thankfully not tomorrow night. Hopefully the x-rays come back negative and all he did was tweak some area in his leg; not completely rip apart a ligament.
