maybe Hayes isn't totally ready to start with the big club yet, but I don't think it's going to be long at all. He could have had two huge assists last night if guys could finish and this team needs his size big time. This is no 18 year old, this is a 22 year old. - jimbro83
Honestly, With Hayes' size, I think Malone ends up being a temporary stop gap while the kid learns the pro game. Malone becomes a scratch once Hayes is ready and then ultimately waived... could be wrong though |

I see it similar to Hagelin and McDonagh, first 2 to 3 months in Hartford depending on how the team is playing |

2 way deal, no need to, just send to Hartford |

2 way deal has nothing to do with waivers. A 2 way day only gives a different salary if you play in the AHL rather than the NHL.
Whether or not waivers is required to be sent down is based on NHL games played. Once a player plays in 69 NHL games he needs waivers to be sent down. |

Was just going to post that. Surprised a lot of the bloggers picked Columbus as 2nd. Hard working team on the rise, but 2nd in the division? I don't know about that. |

I was just thinking that. If RJ was signed then I could understand them being picked 2nd. Until then it's premature. |

Even if he did re-sign, I still think that's high for a team that really hasn't proven anything yet. |

They do have depth. So I could see them pulling off an Avalanche type of season, granted this was all with me thinking if the team and Johansen had to come to an agreement. Now? I don't think so. I think they'll be a playoff team though. |

If he's not playing well enough do think he won't pass through waivers? |

As jimbo has said, the bjs get more credit for losing to the penguins than the rangers do for beating them. |

a lot of people predicted great things for the Islanders last year because of their amazing 6 game loss to the Penguins the year before too and look how that worked out |

Tough to say...with such a cheap contract and being a big nhl veteran I think a team would take a flyer on him assuming he hasn't declined to a shell of himself. |

When is there ever Rangers love? They've been one of the 4 best playoff teams over the past 3 season but because we lost 4 non core players we're screwed, I'd rather make sh itburgers every year and serve them come playoff time |

Yea and cbj are missing RJ and horton looks like he will be out long-term again.
I think the rangers are actually deeper than last year with jt miller, malone, and stempniak likely making the team and a guy like hayes or fast also in the mix. The fact that pouliots 36 points (a career high) is seen as a big depth loss is laughable. |
