Please sign Komi, he will be a veteran calming presence on your blue line.
That Henrique line was dominant last night. Is that going to be a line that stays together for the season, or just because of the split squads? - mdw7413
what is calming about a guy putting your team at risk every time he's on the ice??? We had enough of that with Volchenkov and Salvador last year. |

I agree. I'd like to see what Clowe does in that spot over Zubrus. He may actually be slower than Zubrus, but has a little more offensive instinct. - MartysBetter88
A little? I like he is a lot better than Zubrus offensively. He is a physical player and it is possible he can make some room for Elias and Havlat. I'd be perfectly fine with moving Ruutu up to the 3rd line and putting Zubrus on the 4th line. |

I think they should get Rod to announce the pick when we draft him. |

Devils lines in practice today via Chere:
Mike Cammalleri-Travis Zajac-Jaromir Jagr
Dainius Zubrus-Patrik Elias-Martin Havlat
Tuomo Ruutu-Jacob Josefson-Damien Brunner
Ryane Clowe-Adam Henrique-Michael Ryder
Quite a group. Obviously people are gunna get hurt soon enough, but those are four good lines. |

Hey, I said that Henrique line was awesome, give me some credit. It was only a 1/8 of a troll post. |

Amen. I've been saying for some time now that Zubrus needs to get off the top two lines. The guy has no offensive ability and despite being 6'5 brings nothing to the table in terms of a physical game. He's a fourth line, PK type of guy who Lou is drastically overpaying. |

correction- they're four DECENT lines. ..ok maybe good, but not great. We see these names and I think we kind of remember the very best of each of these players. Elias doesn't have bleached hair anymore folks.
There's no dominant line on this team. Elias and Havlat can't dominate and fly like 5-10 years ago. Neither can the other 3 lines. There's no Datsyuk, no Kopitar, no Crosby. There's no Kane, OV, Kessel. No Bobby Holik, Claude Lemieux, John Maclean.
depth and system will give us a fighting chance in every game. but none of these are really good or great. Maybe Cammalleri can put that top line in the good category. Maybe we can have a line worth calling a #1 line in this league. |

This is always a good debate, would you rather have solid depth? Or an elite top line ? I think these decent lines will match up very well to other teams 2,3,4 th lines in the east. Devils hockey has never been about one player we always won by committee on forwards and having a solid system. I like the system we have been running the last couple years. It comes down to confidence adn finish. We have a foundation to succeed.

Well unless you had a way of acquring Crosby this offseason, I think Lou did pretty good job this summer to put together a decent team from scraps. |
