I'm honestly rooting for the guy, but yeah, he was brutal on the PK. Especially on that second goal. It's early, but his play brought back lots of bad memories from last year.

He's the best player on earth. I wouldn't even trade him for 3 1st round picks. My prediction is that he gets 100+ points this year and not one goal is scored when he's on the ice, and that prediction is from watching him play many years

Hes just keeping Despres regular season seat warm for him. How you all see such high potential in him I will never know. Defensively he is alright. He gets the puck and it is instant panic. Scuderi is going to play, no sense arguing over it.

The Pens site shows no TV network is carrying the game tonight. So I don't even think the streaming sites will work.

Do you consider Scuderi to be defensively, or offensively, superior to Despres? I think Scuderi will unfortunately get the nod at the beginning of the season. My hope is that Johnson is the opposite of FHCDB and sits Scuds after he sees what a complete waste of space he is after a few games.

Have only caught the second period, but no one is really standing out to me right now other than perhaps Ehrhoff and Letang. Both looked quite good on the PP. Kapanen floating around in the defensive zone not doing much.

Team play has been pretty good though. Quick pace to the game and there's been a few sustained pressures in the O zone.

D
Dumoulin has been great, but he made a real bad pivot and got walked by Atkinson (who is fast as hell). He's made a lot of good plays defensively and in puck moving otherwise. Harrington has been rock solid, Samuelsson has been almost as good. They've broken up plays and made good passes all over the ice. Harrington has had a few looks offensively too. Letang is everywhere and has been dominating as he should. Doesn't look sloppy in doing so either. Ehrhoff looks a little confused but he's been good at his one-on-ones and on the powerplay he was very Gonchar-esque. Ruopp has made a few good plays too, he hasn't looked as strong as the rest of the D, but he's not out of his depth and he's had a few good hits too.

Our D have been pinching in all 3 zones and taking away space since the middle of the first. They look quite dynamic and well drilled out there.

Kapanen has looked quite tentative, he hasn't had any good looks with the puck and he's been hesitant to go after loose pucks in all 3 zones. He looks like he's watching the game rather than being assertive, though he hasn't done anything really wrong. Looked poised on the powerplay with the puck. Rust has shown a nose for the net and stone hands. He has made a couple moves out of the corners towards the net but not had any real good looks. Uher has been quite involved, especially on the PK. Had a couple really strong shots on the rush. Goc has looked the best of any of our forwards, he's been hounding the puck in every zone and he looks dangerous on the PK as well. Adams has been gifted a lot of bounces and done less than nothing with them, he had an empty net from a foot out and missed the puck. Payerl has been behind the play. The career AHLers (TomK, PL3, Ebbett) have been making assertive plays and then screwing them up with horrible hands. Sill too.

Overall, we've been dominating the zone time, but the lack of skill up front is very apparent. We've cut them off in the neutral zone a LOT, but I haven't noticed a single dynamic play up front. It's all chipping and cycling.

Greiss has been solid, very un-Fleury. Very calm in net, it took a good play and a post to beat him. Looks great.

Really liking Greiss and our D here.
It will be a shame if any of Dumoulin or Harrington lose a spot to Scuderi...
