Apparently Ghost's goal in the rookie game today was pretty sweet. Really wish there was some way to see it...

@BobRotruck:
Shayne Gostisbehere with a goal. A bullet from the right point off the inside of the far post. 5:00 left in 2nd, Phantoms 3 - Devils 1.

Maybe Streit was unhappy because his +/- was zero.

They weren't very good at 5 on 5. They scored 4 ppgs

The team in London looked pretty good at evens until the third... poop fell apart pretty fast, though.

Interesting take on risks of summer conditioning and a bit about Kimmo's future at the end.

Not sure what they want these guys to do -- if you come to camp out of shape, you're effed, if you come to camp after working out like a madman, then strain one of your muscles that you've developed, then you can't play and, depending on you are, you could be effed.

I don't even know anymore. I talk about the past a lot, but in some cases, talking about the way the NHL used to be is almost pointless. It's damn near a different sport now. Guys used to come to camp to get in shape, wouldn't have skated a lick in the summertime.

You do that now, you probably aren't even in the AHL, let alone the NHL.

I didn't see that game. The one in Philly was pretty sloppy throughout. They had trouble leaving their own zone and didn't generate much at even strength. Andrew Gordon's bad goal was the only one scored by Philly at even strength.

That's how it sounded on the radio; Leafs didn't appear to be able to generate sustained pressure.

Some of that's lineup-based, some of that's good play at ES. It was nice to hear.

Looks like we're getting the big boy Leafs this time: Kessel, Nylander, JVR, and Lupul

Exactly -- back-to-back nights, too.

I'll really get excited if Del Zotto looks good tonight

I want to see how Morin can work against their top players. I am hoping he can step up his physical play from last nights performance.

Question - does anybody remember if Lupul played LW or RW as a Flyer?

He was on the right, and he can play it well -- the line of Hartnell-Carter-Lupul was devastating together

thanks, couldn't remember.

I had it in my head it was just Carlyle in Anaheim wouldn't play him LW and that was why they had issues - thought he played LW everywhere else.

Lupul has definitely played both, and while I don't know which he prefers, he scores on either side -- he was absolutely killing it for the Flyers before getting injured in a freak collision, then he got moved in the Pronger deal

Philly did have quite a bit of line mixing throughout his stay here...all of 2 years. I'm sure some combo of him, Umberger, Richards, Carter, Knuble, Hartnell, and Briere saw him play both sides. But he generally played RW.

There's this - http://flyers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=731455&navid=DL|PHI|home

But there have been some conflicting reports about a couple flyers, like whether or not Grossmann is playing tonight. Not that it really matters

Eh, I get it. There used to be pretty girls to look at on the ice. Now, they're gone.

These sorts of things will get noticed when you pay a ton of money to go to a meaningless preseason game.

People will be over it by Christmas.
