just see Murray moving one before that happens.

IMO Risto and Myers are "Untouchable"(unless the payment is above and beyond).

Definitely, also has some Teppo to his game.

I love having guys like him and Gorges around to stabilize the more offensively gifted 3 that we have in Myers, Risto, and Zadarov.

- sbroads24

I think it's funny that just because he doesn't have any big flashy part to his game, people don't think he'll be more than a bottom pairing guy. I think he could be a #2 guy, but will probably end up more of a 3/4.

Agreed. Defencemen that go un noticed are a nice thing to have. It's not like I'm swearing at him every game like he's Weber. Especially considering what we're looking at in net this year. A D-man that can hang on the the puck and get it past the blue line is fine with me. Guy isn't going to sell a lot of sweaters, but he may help this season hurt a little less...

....I also thought it was weird that Ovechkin played in that game...

Pysyk is a perfect 3-5 guy.

He is getting slightly over rated though. Paul Hamilton said a while ago that he has a chance to be the teams best defensemen and personally I don't see anyway that happens. He doesn't have enough offensive production and he gets pushed around too much

He does however have a good outlet pass which is always vital.

- sbroads24

I think Paul Hamilton was talking more about im being a Erhoff like player, consistent and playing 22 to 25 min a game.

When this team is good I don't see him getting that much ice time.

He isn't a very good special teams asset. Guys like Risto, Myers, Zadarov, McCabe could all be ahead of him as far as PP time goes, and he isn't exactly a great penalty killing option.

He's 22. Meyers "could" be ahead of him, the rest "could" not. I think for a 22 year old, he's doing just fine not embarrasing himself. Theres older players in the league that look worse, that for sure.

I think the point he was making is there isn't that one thing he is great at. He is solid but not a PP guy and not a PK guy either. Once this team gets good (in theory) Pysyk becomes a 4/5 guy.

He could end up learning it and be THAT guy too. Tough to predict how these guys will turn out. Who would of thought Kaleta would be a good PK'er ?

It is becoming more and more tiresome to read these blogs. And then to come to the comments section only to see a plethora of sycophants, invariably praising the blogs. Very few of you have a clue, but don't be blue, I'll f'kn fill you in.

There is no way Pysyk plays less minutes than Ristolainen. What are you thinking!? Pysyk right now is a much better defenseman than Risto, McCabe or Zadorov. He will definitely play a bigger role with this team next year than Ristolainen. BET IT

Mr. Pachla, do you still have Armia ranked higher than Grigorenko? Armia is trending downward. He did not get going last night. He should be ahead of almost all our other prospects, he is older, has more experience playing against men, he was a higher pick than most. Yet he has done nothing to show any separation from the rest of the bunch. He needs to step it up pretty soon before he starts to be considered a bust.

Why would you play two players(Foligno and Flynn) out of position on the third line when you could play none? Flynn is a RW/C, Foligno is a LW. I don't want to hear any BS about Foligno is a center too. Anyone with any common sense knows he is best suited as a winger with his strengths. You could easily play Flynn at C and Foligno at LW and no one is playing out of position.

Not to bust all your bubbles, however neither Ristolainen nor Reinhart will make the opening night roster, barring any unforseen injuries. I can forgive you all for being all Ga-Ga and hopefully optimistic, but logic and common sense point to a different reality. Our defense will consist of Myers, Gorges, Pysyk, Benoit, Meszaros, Weber and Ruhwedel. BET IT

Here's the real roster

Moulson Ennis Stafford
Hodgson Grigorenko Stewart
Foligno Girgensons Gionta
Larsson Mitchell Flynn
McCormick Kaletta

Gorges Myers
Benoit Pysyk
Meszaros Weber/Ruhwedel

I think the will have a rotation on the forth line depending on opponent, and I am not sure if Weber will get the start or not. Nolan is all about respecting those that have put their time in, so I suspect he will, but I believe Ruhwedel is the better of the two, but no other defenseman on the team brings what Weber brings.
Grigorenko will make the team as our second line center.

Armia is in no way trending downwards, if anything he is going up after the playoffs.

I don't even wan't them on the roster this year (at least not right away).

Grigostinko and army will both be in rochacha this upcoming campaign. Risto will man the blue line with Benoit as his partner. Larsson will be here in some capacity and me thinks the 4th line will consist of McCormick-deslauriers-mitchell.

In case you weren't paying attention, we were talking about how much Pysyk will play when this team is competitive. Not this coming year. And you are out to lunch if you think Risto won't be a better player long term than Pysyk. In fact he might already be better.

And you were also the person who tried telling me that Armia doesn't have a ton of skill. It's not us that needs to be filled in

I think so. My girl had her 30 yr reunion party this weekend . Started Friday.
