Conacher, MacDonald and Boulton will be healthy scratches to start season
Hate to break it to you but Bailey will start over Lee to start season.

Lee will be first call up if someone gets hurt.

also thanks for download on Colberg. Lets hope he more Patrick Kane and not Jeff Tambellini.

They can't have three forwards as scratches... Someone has to go. There are only three scratch spots available

I'll take as many almost-as-dynamic/John Leclaire-esque players as you can find.

at this point I think with nelson, strome and lee we have three very very good young players who could all be top six material within a year or two, if not this season.

colberg looks interesting, dal colle and hosang as well. we've got a heck of a lot of potentially very good young players along with a boatload of defensemen. we just need to speed up the development process somehow.

Back from the 24 hr ban.

To my detractors...you know who you are.

Grass is green. Sky is blue. Tavares is awesome. Bailey is an underachiever. Cappy is not a great coach.

These are all 100% true statements and are repeated by many in this site everyday.

I love this team as much as anyone here. and when I comment regarding the coach or GM, it's because the THEY have the most impact on the team's success other than the players themselves. I want to puke when we are out-coached or unprepared or understaffed and lose games because of it. (no one disagrees so far, right?)

Well, the problems wont resolve themselves just by hoping and wishing. Until changes are made I will continue to point the finger where the blame should be laid. I TRY and make it humorous or use sarcasim to express my feeling and sometimes for effect, those remarks are exaggerated. I don't come here to scream or vent my feelings for the sake of throwing a tantrum. I just disagree that this team can make the big steps necessary to be a perennial force(or even somewhat respected) in the league without management changes. I ain't gonna change, so if you disagree, I cordially invite anyone to argue their point vs. mine with reason or speculation or shadow puppets on the wall to prove your point—that's what a blog like this is for.

But I will wipe the slate, er(relatively) clean, as of today. It's a new season. The boys played what sounded like 2 great exhibition games and Bailey scored a goal & one in the shootout so who f'in knows...there may just be ice water flowing in hell for everyone there. I am begging to be wrong one of these years.... ˜burp˜

I don't disagree. I do hope I see another cup winning team. 30 years I've been waiting. At least I'm not a Canucks fan. Never and watching three other teams lift the cup against them would be the suck.

It a long offseason and it's tough to find things to talk about. Hockey shutting down two days after July 1 does not help. Other sports seem to keep up the interest much longer in the offseason. I think the Isles can compete for a playoff spot, but there are clear concerns. This has been a very frustrating team to follow. I think good times are on the way. It's been a very long and painful process though.

We have to get rid of another forward then. Tough call.

Tavares will probably start the year in Oshawa, IMO.

Not sure about that. They're pretty stacked down the middle. Maybe they'd move him to the wing?

JT has to step up and be the one who gets cut. No way Conacher can lose his spot.

Yeah he'd help with some actual defense being played on that pairing.

no room for JT with Bozak. Maybe the fourth line, but who wants JT's outrageous contract?
