Im expecting a 60 point season from his this year.
His effort and grit are the only things he really needs to improve on this year.
Other than that, the kid has been playing fine and is developing well.

Erm..... Isn't that the one thing he actually gets credit for? He's a gritty, chippy player?

absolutely - i couldnt agree more (he hits a lot though)

needs to have 2 wingers that are with him most of the season too, cant have that interchanging door with clarkson, santorelli, booth, leivo, frattin, etc

you know what i mean?

- Lucas Neilson

I agree. Maybe JVR could help him.

Not consistently though.
He needs that extra effort to take the next step.....only IMO though.

im not against the idea of taking JVR off the top line, i mean poop phil and bozie can have their love fest, toss clarkson up there to eat some souls and make the second line a huge threat with jvr-kadri-lupul - that line would be scary for a second line.

i understand but you're not judging hockey players, you're judging basic human nature.
- DoubleDown

I understand, just find it comical..

Contracts should be 2 years in length. Every second year, your player will play well.

This is exactly what James Tanner said on a competitor website which I cannot name.

That exact top 6.

I liked the Scrimmage line of JVR-Kadri-Frattin. Apparently it dominated... Reunite Lupul-Bozak-Kessel, which was a hell of a line as well. Seems pretty balanced. Booth-Santo-Clarkson, Komarov-Holland-Winnik.

I dig it

cant hurt to try stuff out - thats what pre season is all about

clarkson is a third line player but if hes out there with phil not only would that add some toughess to the top line but it increased the second lines out put 100%

as long as phil is getting 30+ you can be sure clarkson/bozie will chip in accordingly...it will screw up other teams too, they wont know which top pairing to put their guys vs.

I getcha. It just really bothers me to move Loops to the right side... He's never been as good there as he is on the LW

agreed - but hes never played with kadri and JVR either

if we didnt have kessel on this team; that would EASILY be our first line.

I like this idea too. Maybe get Clarkson some confidence back if he can produce some points playing with phil. Stand in front of the net and let phils shots bounce off clarkson and in the net booayah!

Oh no, I would not toss Clarkson on the 1st line.
I would only change out JVR for Lupul.

worth trying in 1 pre season game to see how it goes

who knows maybe jvr-kadri-lupul would all be around 30 goals? I think Phil would still get the top D pairings and shutdown lines vs him..
