Little disappointed. I was hoping Laughton would have a stronger game.

I paid closer attention to the game in London. Alderson's a big kid with decent wheels, MDZ looked solid, Stolarz was very sharp. The line of Rinaldo, Bellemare and Raffl was very effective, as well.

Among the vets, thought that Schultz struggled a bit.

Stolarz's technique is plain ugly... but he stops the puck.

loving not hearing coatsey, but for some reason craig laughlin is involved in this, and ruining it with his voice.

I was talking to Greg Balloch, who covers goalies...he said Stolarz is streaky with rebound control. When he's on, he's dynamite, when he's not he struggles. Tonight he did pretty well with rebounds.

The Leafs PxP guys doing the game in London were murdering the Flyers names. Raff-El, Stolozars

Yeah, nobody really stood out as bad. Some undisciplined moments, but overall everyone played solidly or better
- Jsaquella

Don't really need to see Simmer beating Holzer like that.. all we need is a broken hand..

Morin didn't have a good showing, IMO. Leafs turned him with regularity off the rush, and he coughed up the puck a few times under pressure. it just doesn't seem like he's up to pro speed yet in the decision-making dept.

Yeah, game was getting chippy at that point, half glad they tossed Simmer after that

Legs flailing everywhere, gigantic holes under his arms... when he goes down, he doesn't seem to be able to get back up.

He definitely lacked aggressiveness. But he had some plays where he used his size well to seal off forecheckers, and he generally recovered when they went to the outside.

He definitely showed he is still raw, but I kind of expected it to an extent. I'm rewatching the Caps game now, Sanheim looks really steady.

Jake, Streit, Vinny, and that other guy.
- aflyerpower8

Granted its one pre-season game.... but Streit was everywhere (player of the game). VL I thought played well and was screening the goalie on at least one of those goals. Imagine the homer haters if VL and Streit have a solid season this year?

I was too.. We don't need anymore regulars going down with issues although Simmer is tough as nails.

Josh Leivo impressed me for the Leafs. Peter Holland worked his tail off, as well.

Well that's good to hear. I am happy that our GM is now Hexy, but I still don't hate those signings. Streit was fine last year. I'd love to see him step it up and help replace Time, and I'd also like to see VL do well this year. He doesn't suck, he's just a centre and can't play wing.

No, Stolarz is huge.

He really is a mountain of a man. Every centimeter of 6'6"

Back down to Rimouski, a season or two in LHV, I'm sure he'll get there eventually.

Yeah, Sanheim looks terrific.

I thought winnik once again showed his grit and his ability to be around the puck when he's on the ice. As far as 4th liners go he's a good one.

he's got 9" on me. jeezus. i do think the right cutoff is about 6'5" for goalies. anything more than that, and the size works against them, in my generally speaking opinion. i hope i'm wrong about wrt stolarz.

I was looking for Morin's physical play but he did keep on coming traffic on the outside.
I thought Luke played a great all round game...just where he left off last year as he was great IMO during the playoffs

Stortini is a mean mother! He looks like a mean caveman!
