5 Million for one year doesn't make any sense for Ryan," my source said,"I am hearing that he could get close to 4.5 a year on a two year deal in Columbus and I am not even convinced the KHL deals are all that solid.

5 million for a season? There's no way that is plausible. Now, 4.5 a season that's a different story.

His chances of winning the Stanley cup are probably better playing in the KHL, than if he got traded to TO

Columbus is gonna have to cave a bit here. The bridge they offered is less than what Stepan is getting, and stepan hasnt hit 60 points or even 20 goals.

Kessel is a good comparable. he was coming off a 36 goal, 60 point seasons and got a 5.4/ 5 year deal. the long term deals columbus is offering are a joke. 5.75 on a long term? thats less than what dustin brown makes long term.

Which is STILL better than the zero cups in NHL history canucks.

Is it possible to have less than zero chance at a cup?

Dunno. Ask the sedins.

It's disappointing when such diligent gentlemen, put forth a great effort to succeed, and what's left? I agree with fair compensation; nonetheless, he may have considered the crest on the front of his sweater before letting the negotiations deteriorate as they have. I'd assume that professionalism takes precedent?

Stepan signed his deal after scoring 44 points in 48 games though. That's a 75 points pace over a full season.

Not fair to label an entire generation as disloyal because of a couple greedy NHL stars. There are hundreds of NHL players that have taken cheap bridge deals.

And yet the Canucks have been to three SCF since they arrived on the scene. The Leafs? Not so much. Leafs have talented players, but they won't win a Stanley Cup until 2030. I guarantee that.
