With Brassard getting $5 mill, he and Stepan are easily worth $6.5 mill each.
Maybe $7 mill each, after the Toews, & Kane bank heist.

Its going to be an interesting summer again next year if we don't get anyone of our guys signed during the year. Hope the cap is going up by a lot.

That's bump of 13 goals and and 18 points. That'd be a big bump in production.
- tomburton99

Not so big if Kreider plays all 82 games. That would mean 18 more points over 16 extra games which is feasible if he hits the ground running and takes a step forward overall in his game. He scored at a .56 PPG clip last season so if he can bump that up to .65 games AND play 16 extra games, it's possible IMO.

He did do very well in the play offs and do you guys not expect him to have a better opportunity this season with the amount of minutes he will get and pp time ? Linemates ect I haven't followed stuff like that but I love power forwards and he is one of the new flashy ones I personally think he will be a hell of a player but I haven't followed him as close or as long as you guys

I'm going to say 5-10 more goals, and every single starting goalie taken out.

What it comes down to is leverage though. Brassard and Zuccarello would both be UFAs next summer while Stepan is still a few years away. If Brassard and Zuccarello took the team to arbitration, they could've gotten 1 year deals and hit the open market. That's why the Rangers have to overpay to keep them a bit although Zuccarello took a hometown discount (again) to help us out. Stepan has less leverage because even if he does take us to arbitration next summer, he will still be a RFA the following year.
- rangerdanger94

Gotcha, thought he, (Stepan), had more leverage coming off his 2 year bridge deal, he would get a 1 year deal then?
I would think he would want to get locked up, (or more advantageous), for Sather to look him up long term now. If he has a breakout season, scoring wise, he could ask for more 2 years from now.

He will only get a 1 year deal if he goes to arbitration and can't agree to an extension. I think Sather and him will work towards a long term extension though.

Not expecting a coming out party for him ? I know he doesn't play center but to me I think he could put up similar numbers to Johanson last season

I think Kreider could be a 60 point player and score 30+ goals this year

To me, it seemed he realized in the playoffs how much of a gamebreaking forward he can really be if he uses his speed and strength to his advantage. He's just so hard to contain and can burn probably 90% of the defensemen in this league if he's just sprinting down a straight line. Throw a couple playmakers with him like Stepan and MSL and he will have all the opportunities to put up 30+ goals. Gotta see if he has that finishing ability though.

I'm hoping he breakouts and turns into that type of hybrid power forward. But I wouldn't be disappointed with a 20-20 or 20-25 season.

Yea I have had this idea in my head and it might sound bad at first but it's a compliment lol he kind of seems like a bigger and likely more aggressive Phil kessel with the speed and shot might seem like a silly comparison but I thought it fit

He is going to score a hattrick on the night Hank gets the shutout record over Giacomin. In the celebration, Kreider will go to congratulate Hank, Girardi's stick will accidentally trip him from behind and he will go skates first into Hanks knee.

For sure it is only is second season in the nhl I don't mean to put the expectations that high but was curious if you guys thought he was that special of a player today as the one he should be in 2-3 years

Dan Boyle looking real good in the scrimmage. As did Stempniak. McIlrath looked solid...Connor Allen turned the puck of a few times especially when he tried skating it up. Hayes has some nice skill to him. Haven't really noticed Duclair too much. McDonagh looks as good and confident as ever. Pulled a sick toedrag right in front of his goalie to deke around Glass early in the scrimmage.

Thanks for the info Jan. Good to hear both Nash & MSL two of the Rangers older guys are in great shape. Although I never doubted MSL, dude is a freak of nature.

Seems we have a real log jam for the final roster spots assuming Nash, Stepan Kreider, MSL, Zuccarello, Brassard, Hagelin and Moore are pretty much locks. Would love to see Miller make the team this year. I think this is the year we find out if he can hang with the big boys. I personally think he can and will surprise a lot of people if he is given consistent ice time.

- mdw7413

I think MSL is a point per game player again this year. He can finally put a lot of the emotion stuff behind him this year and just play hockey again.

I personally think he has all the tools. Its putting them all together and having the confidence that I still think he lacks. I cant think of anyone as big and strong as he is, with the speed he has. Also has a great shot, just has to be more confident in it.

The speed and shot is where I draw the Phil kessel comparison from

Absolutely, I expect big things from him this year. Last year had to be emotionally draining for him. Practicing and staying with line mates will go a long way too. Seemed last year when he was traded to us he was trying to find his place and getting moved all around.

Rick Nash 40 goals this year

I think you made a typo, 04 goals this year seems more up Nash's alley. Most overrated player of our time!
