Hoping someone can use an extra d-man and all Stan wants is a 7th for him.
Just one preseason game but I think they'll be ok.
Not sure how much is coaching and how much is personnel. When Kompon exited he talked about how they wanted whoever was out there to shoot more than what we were typically seeing. He could have been full of it but who knows... - HawkintheD
That's a possibility. If you read the interview on the Hawks site with Dineen, you have to wonder if it's Q who's mucking the whole thing up. |

You must be old school. Almost all Americans under 40 have played soccer and are quite knowledge of the game. Old farts like you need to realize that soccer is going to replace baseball in the distant future. - spanky
They've been trying to get "us" to like it for 40 years now - yeah, kids are playing it - it's a good non-impact sport - but then they seem to forget about it and return to baseball, football, basketball, hockey. The under-40s may be knowledgeable, but they ain't watching it.
Do you really think soccer will replace baseball as a major sport - even in the (as you put it) "distant future"? |

Meathead Bass starts a fight and falls down pretty quickly...
YAWN.
Have fun in the minors, chump.
Cumiskey has made a couple of weak passes that have been picked up by the Wangs.
Rasmussen looks mediocre. - prd797
Have you got anything nice to say? |

Slow down there...
He's giving an opinion on what he sees. There is no problem in that.
Perhaps you might want to add in some input as to how you see it, other than pointing a finger? |

I like the new 2nd line.
Dahlbeck's been alright.
Jamie Kompon isn't behind the bench.
Scott Darling's mask looks pretty cool even though he'll never actually play for the Hawks.
That good enough for ya? |

C'mon Eli, Meathead and Chump and the first preseason game is only half done? |

Cumisky has some wheels and hasn't looked all that bad so far. Dahlbeck has been alright too. - EKolb13
Agree on both. Cumisky is pretty good w/ the puck from what I've seen thus far and Dahlbeck looks much like what we expected -- pretty solid, if unexciting. |

Bass is a one-dimensional goon. Always has been, likely always will be.
So those aforementioned adjectives are apt descriptions I'd say. |

I'd say you're spot-on with this guess. All you have to do is listen to Q in his pressers and it's clear he's in charge. He was none-too-happy when they tried to get Barry Smith to help fix things up on the PP. Doubtful we'll see any meaningful changes to the scheme during Q's days in back of the Hawk bench. |

Who are you referring to as "meathead" and "chump?"
You might want to be careful with this answer. - EKolb13
I was quoting what he said in his post that I commented on, take a look at it. Those were not my words |

That's what I described Cody Bass as.
If someone could prove otherwise, I'd happily listen.

You're taking some wicked shots between gulps of kool aid. It's a nice balance you've found. |

No, you're right. I went and re-read that.
However, people are allowed to have their opinions on things, even if you don't agree with them. You might want to keep your responses to the subject matter, not the poster himself. |

Honestly grinder,
It doesn't really much matter. Because I'd still rather have guys that aren't on the team to play three minutes (Jeremy Morin is an exception ).
Mashinter will be depth in Rockford. I'd think the Hawks would be in some big injury trouble if he's playing in the NHL this year. |

Gotta get the negative and positive energy out in extremes to rein it in for when the real season starts, D.
That Kane goal was a beaut. Great sign that it's time for me to get to sleep.
Enjoy the rest of the game, all. |

Anyone else think Morin has gained some jump this year?
IMO, definitely looks at least a step/step-and-a-half quicker which is great to see.
As I'm typing this, another wonderful Rozy play. |

My opinion, He makes the team, they need someone like him now that Bollig is gone |

Didn't need Bollig before, they don't need Mashinter now. Serves no purpose when a guy is going to ride Q's bench. Can't see another guy taking a spot when he can't give us meaningful minutes. |

Yeah, to an extent.
However, we've seen the red hot Morin at the end of last season. When he's determined to succeed, the guy can achieve.
However, we've seen regular Morin before. That isn't good at all. He's got to keep motivated and keep his feet moving to stay out of the press box this season. |

Anyways, it's a moot point until Bowman makes a trade. Even after that, there may not be cap room to carry a 14th forward. |

Would love to hear/know what he did this off-season in terms of training. And where he was in terms of fitness on the club. All Morin has to do is watch and learn from Hossa. That guy exemplifies being a pro! |

If he was any good yes, they need a big body.
Do they need a guy that takes up a roster spot, gets virtually no shifts so they are only rolling 3 lines. That describes Bollig in the playoffs. Not sure that's what they need. |
