Sleep is overrated, at least that is what I keep telling myself. Hang in there.

Working on 6.5 hours of sleep for the week so far. Hope to almost double that tonight if things go well.

Be interesting to see what kind of ratings there are tonight...considering they sold out the scrimmage yesterday...only a couple of weeks until we head to Dallas for the opener. I wonder how long before we hear the Detroit Sucks chant this evening...?

You really need to go back to the 60s when she and Phyllis Diller were the first women to have success as stand-up comedians. Before them, stand-up was all male - women comedians - as opposed to comic actresses - were too "blue" for the mainstream - Belle Barth, Moms Mabley. There was no Borscht Belt for women.

And Rivers and Diller were outrageously funny. When Rivers was doing routines on herself - with a few digs at the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Queen Elizabeth - she was as funny as any stand-up comedian around.

Trouble was - she lost much of that self-deprecation, and mainly became vicious and very (IMHO) unfunny.
