So no TT tonight, and Q says he might start skating again tomorrow. Hope we get to see him in at least a couple of these preseason games.

No Nordstrom either.

It was unlikely that either Teravainen or Nordstrom would make the team unless Stan traded a forward to become cap compliant. I just hope their injuries aren't too severe and they will be able to start the season in Rockford.

Thanks Rick....team site cranks out a lot of content and i did catch Q's positive assessment of 'Steeger. If Kris can find the jump and hunger he had in '10...he might be worth keeping around.

Hawks site had a vid with Johns mic'd up...it was fairly good. This young'n seems really sharp between the ears and he's PHYSICAL. Good combo. But as has been discussed, he has to pick his spots when stepping up on his man....sometimes he's too eager, misses his target and the other team suddenly has an odd man rush.

Watched what I could of the scrimmage last night. Did see Bickell take a bit of a run at Johns ... and bounce off. Hadn't seen that happen much w/ Bickell. Looking forward to seeing how Johns develops this year in the A.

Whaddya mean Phil?

Heck, he'll fit right in IMO, the bolded is one Mr. Duncan Keith's reason-to-exist. Good thing he's got a pretty good partner covering his ass.

BTW, do we know if Keith broke off a chunk of the Norris to give to Seabs? Certainly deserves at least a half-share.

ohhhhhhhhhhh Savvy my brother.....are you bracing for Leddy's possible departure ? And what coping mechanisms are you employing

I am ready for a blockbuster, like a 5 player trade. But with Stan, it will be a player for picks most likely.

Niklas Hjalmarsson finished first in #Blackhawks' fitness testing. Patrick Sharp was second.

Didn't Keith always un away with this in the past?

Also, do they go beyond ranking them to giving each a rating on a scale of 1-10 or maybe something like "Extremely Fit", "Very Fit, ""Fit", "Weekend Warrior, "Couch Potato" etc.

It would be interesting to see who wants it badly and is will to work off ice to give them the best chance possible.

I'm good either way. Would rather see Led-pipe in the Indianhead but he might just flourish under another system.

The sad part is that if traded, Stanley won't get anywhere near Led-pipe's potential value had he not waited until the 11th hour to make the move.

And in all seriousness, watching ALL of the "new" guys -- Rundblad, Cumiskey, Clendening, Dalhbeck, et al -- man, I CANNOT WAIT for that 5/6 pairing. Guys all over Leddy will be eating themselves alive. Led-pipe's put on a few lbs over this break, now listed at 194. He looks stockier and faster than ever -- watched him take the puck in our zone with a guy on his shoulder and within 2 strides, that guy was a mere speck in the rearview mirror.

Oh, and Rozsival looks WAY slower too. Goody, cannot wait for what happens. Keith, Seabs, Oduya and Hjalm's minutes are going WAY UP!

Burn 'em out early, that's what I say, Q.

EDIT: Oh and Phil, to answer your question on coping -- no heavy drinking (yet), but I might have to find SteveRain and tip a few when the season gets under way and we have a pair of clown shoes happening for the 5/6 pairing.

Just thought you might get more ammo for later...

"In the third period, Blues forward Steve Ott dropped the gloves with Dallas' Curtis McKenzie, after McKenzie laid a hit on forward Jacob Doty.

Ott received five minutes for fighting and an extra two minutes for roughing, but Hitchcock didn't mind — in fact the coach approved.

'We would like to see more of that from other people, that gamesmanship,' Hitchcock said. 'I think that's something we're looking for, to see more of that, quite frankly. And I think we're going to have to talk about that. We're going to have to show more of that.'"

What is the definition of insanity.....ugh....

Thought we finally were going to try and roll three scoring lines and save the 4th line for energy shifts and pk and not many minutes overall. C'mon boys focus on winning the game not the fight. Win the war, not the battle.

Standing up for your teammates is important but his quote just struck me as being phrased oddly.

Who won't sniff the Blues roster for a while at least.....

I know at least one friend was hoping the fight would putt Ott on LTIR, nothing serious or rest of life debilitating but LTIR none the less, lol.

Well if you believe Bob Mackenzie, Stanbo has been trying to trade Leddy all summer. Which probably means he was on the phone 10 seconds after LA scored the OT goal in Game 7.

Couldn't do a deal before the draft, at the draft or during the summer. What could he be asking for in return.

Or do you think Uncle Dale has to get written approval first from those mobsters that now own the Panthers?

Similarly, we heard he was trying to move Oduya and then the rumor about a cap friendly deal. Bottom line, Oduya is 10 yrs older and is definitely slowing down. Just watch and compare closing speed on the ice -- not just 27, but the cadre of those guys some here are plugging into the 5/6 slot.

Would like to see THIS version of #8 paired with either #7 or #4 for at least 1/4 to 1/3 of the season before I'm ready to write him off. That's just me.

Guys with Led-pipe's passing/shooting/skating skills don't grow on trees. And we will NEVER know what this version of Led-pipe is able to do against top QoC unless and until Q relents and gives him a long look against it. Would rather come in 6th or 7th in conf and have confidence in lots more guys (goes for forwards and Goal too) instead of what Q did this past season.
