I don't know what you think Oduya and cap friendly equate to but I would estimate it at 2 years at about $3.5M per. He certainly isn't going to take a pay cut. If he was even considering that, Donald Fehr would fly to Chicago and have him admitted to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation.

I think if you take what a blogger writes about the team he's covering, or what the fans of the team say as what the front office is actually thinking/doing then you're looking at the situation incorrectly.

Just because John writes about Kane getting better or other playmakes in the system, doesnt mean that he or anyone else posting here doesnt think defense is important. Pretty sure the front office knows what they want and what they're trying to do. They saw the season/playoffs last year and will do what they can to get the team in position to win...i hope haha.
