"Gems" like the Av's have found are very rare.

I can't believe they found Mackinnon 1st overall, Landeskog 2nd overall, and Duchene 3rd. You usually just don't find value like that in those spots

Considering what you guys do every year.... yeah. It seems that way.

Nobody would trade any of Duchene, MacKinnon, or Landeskog for anyone not named Hall right now.

You guys are funny though. Even then, I don't think anyone would trade.

Congrats on winning the Central last year. I didn't realize they awarded Lord Stanley for that now... Must be the new playoffs format.

I would.

You wouldn't trade Duchene or Lando for Crosby or Malkin? That's pretty dumb.

overall scoring depth... its between LA and tampa for deepest in the league. we have a calder finalist last year playing as our 3rd line center in johnson. after those top 6 in colorado that thing falls off a cliff for their bottom 6. tampas bottom 6 is kucherov johnson connolly and brown boyle morrow. and LAs is better with mike richards as their 4th line center or whatever he was last year.

final 4 this year will be LA/CHI and TB/PIT. just my gut feeling.

With no Stanley cup that's a pretty awful trade.

Shh. If Avs fans are happy with losing to the Minnesota Mild in the first round, then losing their top point scorer in the playoffs to a division rival for nothing; let's let them do it every year.

Noted.. but that was 5 years ago. He is a combined -41 over his past 3 years.

Trotz will help, but how much?

MacKinnon isn't gonna do anything but get better. He was a #1 overall pick for a reason.. was anyone talking about Crosby having a sophomore slump back when he was? I doubt it.

Or most of the other #1's? Nope. Maybe Tavares will hit a wall this year too

- DutchCanSaveUs

Nice (frank)ing logic pal. At least have the dignity to admit when your level of reasoning is equal to that of a toddler.

And when someone brings up a bunch of #1 picks that did slump you add a bunch of conditionals and excuses to save some face because your initial statement was just dumb. Please think before you post, and don't make it worse by making beside the point excuses. You speak as if the future as you know it is already written in stone. It makes you sound like a complete fool. Express a modest amount of doubt or skepticism in your beliefs.

On another note, I agree with the Flyers fan about St. Louis' top 6 having all players you are sure of. Not the best in a pure offensive sense, but when you factor in two-way play they are probably my favorite. No real weak links imo.

Funny, i read the list and immediately thought; "flyers"???
Then i saw that he was a flyers fan and it all made sense.

Certainly some quality names there, but far from among the creme.

Really like dallas' group

- hugefemale dog77

Really? Simmonds and Giroux flirted with the 30 goal mark. Voracek, Schenn and Read all had 20 goals and are young players who improve with age.

Are u attempting to imply that somehow two 2nd lasts and a 3rd last is much more impressive than two lasts and a 2nd last??!!
It isnt.

Absolutely brutal bottom feeders. Just like the oilers.

Embarassing that we're even discussing this.

Terrible troll attempt
