My list of top 2 lines are:

Saad-Toews-Hossa
Sharp-Richards-Kane

Landeskog-Duche-Iggy
Reilly-MacKinnon-Tanguay

Benn-Seguin-Nich
Cole-Spezza-Hemsky

Parise-Koivu-Pommer
Vanek-Granlund-Coyle

Schenn-Giroux-Voracek
Simmonds-Couturier-Read

Hertl-Thornton-Pavelski
Marleau-Couture-Neito

Steen-Backes-Oshie
Schwartz-Stastny-Tarasenko

Honestly I like St.Louis the best. They are the only line IMO that doesn't have one guy you aren't sure of. Richards on CHI, Tanguay on Col, Cole on DAL, Coyle on MIN, Schenn on PHI and Neito on SJS are all guys that I am not sure will succeed where they are.

I think it's going to be hard to sign Ryan after you have both traded for and signed him in the past so many times already.

I really like the Wild's top 6.

Ovechkin, fewer points his second year
Kane, fewer points his second year
RNH, fewer points his second year
Yakupov, fewer points his second year

That's half of the last 8 forwards taken first overall. And none of them had to deal with switching positions to one where they were required to be more defensively responsible. MacKinnon having a sophomore slump is not an outlandish idea.

As for who has the best top 6, the discussion gets pretty short when you remember forwards have to play on both ends of the ice. Colorado's top 6 is scary good on offense, but only decent defensively. Gives teams with two way guys like Toews the edge.

Edmonton sucks, why is it a shocker that RNH and Yak had slumps? On a good team, with support and proper coaching.. you think that happens?

Kanes 2nd year was a 2 pt drop and a 2 game shorter season. Big whoop. The following year he jumped up to over a PPG.

OV well.. that's a bad comparo man.. after he dipped in his 2nd season to 92 pts, he then jumped up to 112, 110, 109.. THEN in '10-'11 dipped again.. to 85.. 65...

So is OV slumping right now as well? Lol. Pts aren't everything.

Funny, i read the list and immediately thought; "flyers"???
Then i saw that he was a flyers fan and it all made sense.

Certainly some quality names there, but far from among the creme.

Really like dallas' group

Noted.. but that was 5 years ago. He is a combined -41 over his past 3 years.

Trotz will help, but how much?

MacKinnon isn't gonna do anything but get better. He was a #1 overall pick for a reason.. was anyone talking about Crosby having a sophomore slump back when he was? I doubt it.

Or most of the other #1's? Nope. Maybe Tavares will hit a wall this year too

It's nice how we ended up with the gems of all these recent drafts, especially not picking 1st every year like the Oilers, hahah.

yea, defintely a donkey, what position was MacKinnon taken with again? (frank) you're not very bright.

Just a bunch of excuses for why #1's had slumps, when you should just be admitting you were wrong for implying it's unusual or unexpected for people taken #1 to slump. And "comparo" isn't a word.

You're right, that's why he's being compared to him and spent the offseason practicing with him.. he can't learn anything nor be better than the magical unicorn that is Sidney Crosby, can he?

As yes, we all know MacKinnon went first.. the point is we didn't have to draft 1st overall 4 years in a row, and we're still winning our division and making the playoffs.

You guys meanwhile, have stockpiled a bunch of #1 picks and still can't get out of the basement.

Congrats.

So 2 games and 2 pts is a slump?

What would you call Ovechkins last 4 years then? Amazing? Lol.

I like how that only applies to 2nd year players though.

It's not a big deal, and MacKinnon is sliding back to his NATURAL position.. he won the calder playing in a spot he wasn't accustomed to.. to think he is going to do worse is just plain nonsense. Also, just look at the guys he will have around him.. terrible spot to be in.

"Gems" like the Av's have found are very rare.

I can't believe they found Mackinnon 1st overall, Landeskog 2nd overall, and Duchene 3rd. You usually just don't find value like that in those spots

Taylor hall

And yes, u had 3 lottery picks from 09-13. An impressive 1, 2 and a 3. While the oilers also had 3 in that time frame. But instead they were all firsts.
U should be proud...

Dont be so obtuse

I wouldn't say that they are all "gems" of their draft year by any means. Maybe MacKinnon which you picked 1st overall, but otherwise there are a lot better players from every other draft class with the exception of Landeskog who is right on par with RNH if you ask me.
