What separates CHI from COL is the 1st line. Landeskog and Tanguay doesn't compare to Sharp and Hossa. That Toews guy is also better than MacKinnon.

I would still take Chicagos 2nd line over COL's too.

- JerHAWK27

Yes. This. Although I'll take Landeskog over Sharp at this point of their careers.

No - they lost their number one center and are going to rely on a 2nd year rookie, who may or may not endure a sophomore slump and has never played center for a full 82 games, there are better top six's for sure!!
- LeftCoaster

Statsny led our team in points last year and played the 1st line?

Wat?

COL have a great top-6 but MacKinnon could have a sophomore slump; its one of those odd things that effects a large number of high producing rookies. I also think Iginla is going to start faltering due to age any day now... but thats just my humble opinion.

I personally like Chicago top-6 the best and as people have said, any team with Crosby/Malkin at 1/2 C just need breathing humans to be considered the best top-6.

- nords21

MacK could have a slump, and its a big worry with no Stastny now. But from everythign that has been reporting about him coming into camp, bulked up 10 pounds of muscle, no increased body fat, worked on his draws, etc.

It looks like MacK is primed to take his game to the next level. Lots of excitement around him in the avalanche cirlces

Two tans that come close would be:

Chicago:
Sharp-Toews-Hossa
Saad-Richards-Kane

Pittsburgh:
Insert Name Here-Crosby-Insert Name Here
Insert Name Hhere-Malkin-Insert Name Here

ROR as well. If you start looking at it positionally I think the Avs have strong LWers and Centers (Toews is amazing but Richards doesnt compete at the same level as a Duchene/MacK 1-2 Punch). Hawks just have an unreal RW combo in Kane/Hossa. Cant be beat in the league

Tough call between CHI-COL, but I'll still take CHI.

again, what separates Colorado's top 6 is how good that second line is. that second line for Chicago doesn't compare with Richards and Saad.
- DoubleDown

The second lines for both teams are comparable points wise. Its the first line that really separates the blackhawks as a better top 6

Chicago has more proven game breakers and clutch preformers, you have to take the Hawks Top 6 if the game was on the line. Lots of talent and potential in the Avs, but Hawks just get it done.

Where does TB fit into all of this?

I say not dominant top 6 just solid top to bottom.

Maybe St. Louis doesn't have a better top 6, but had Stastny been on the team last season, the Blues would've finished first in Goals For.

I personally don't think he's going to slump, kid is a stud. I think he could reach a ppg this year

Hardly, the dude clearly has issues. Seems like the type of fan that ties their self-worth to the sports teams/players they support. By even mentioning that the kid may struggle, this person is ready to attack.

This is why I posted the sarcastic loaded question to his response just above.

I dont think he slumps either, Claude Lemieux piped up about him recently in an interview and said the last 1/3rd of the season and the playoffs, he only got better and put that team on his back trying to win that series when some of the other vets disappeared.

To win series your best players have to be at their best and MacK was the only one who was (EJ, Varly, ROR, slept through that series)

Claiming MacKinnon could slump is like saying Ovechkin might be a +35 this year.

Just not happening.

Anyone who watched more than 1 Avs game last year could tell you that it's not going to happen.

Pk Subban isn't captain material.
