ROR is a tier or 2 ahead of Saad at the moment.

or 2? Maybe 2 years older.

It's good, but I'd definately not label them as the best. I think the pens, hawks, kings, and blues have a better top 6. The stars top 6 looks really good as well

Kaner is one of the top 10 players in the NHL in terms of pure offensive ability in my opinion. His speed, skating, hands, shot, vision, passing ability, etc. are unreal. He's definitely way ahead of Iginla at this point in each of their respective careers, again, in my opinion.

Duchene is very similar to Kane though and is a lot better than Sharp. Hossa is > ROR right now but not in 2 years (or even this year).

- rangerdanger94

If your strictly basing it on offense....why isn't their such a gap in numbers?

And of course we all know how well Colorado and Pittsburgh did in the playoffs last year with those monster top 6.

Sadly Duchene, Tanguay, and Landeskog were injured in the playoffs

There was a pretty wide gap last season. Kane put up 69 points in 69 games while Iginla put up 61 points in 78 games. So Kane put up 8 more points in 9 less games. Playing with Handzus as his center.

Iginla is still a great player no doubt about it. But he can't take over the game anymore like Kane can nowadays. Kane is filthy.

Yes yes, everyone knows you got lucky enough to play an easy opponent who had a top guy injured in the first round. If you think that means you were actually performing better than Blues in the playoffs, enjoy your delusions. There is a reason Toews talked about how tough the series were against the Blues and Kings, but didn't mention the Mild. Just keep praying you get another easy first round matchup and don't have to face a team you can't beat like St. Louis. If you manage to squeeze into the playoffs again, that is.

They don't even have the top two lines in their division. You're telling me Colorado's top two lines are better than:
Sharp-Toews-Hossa
Saad-Richards-Kane

Get back to me when this Colorado team wins two Cups !!

Meh, you including Richards doesn't help your argument. Sure they won 2 cups...but he hasn't and his best days have passed him by.

He's the reason it's at least debatable. There's gonna be a weak link in every group. That's the point.

If they had a spezza or kesler or something, it wouldn't even be close.

No - they lost their number one center and are going to rely on a 2nd year rookie, who may or may not endure a sophomore slump and has never played center for a full 82 games, there are better top six's for sure!!
- LeftCoaster

Matt Duchene never left bud. K Thanks.

Because you know being in the playoffs for the first time for a few years+duchene missing a few games+ Barrie injury doesn't hurt, No Tanguay either, and hey, 7Games

Lemme guess , started watching Hockey when the Hawks returned to glory? You should know that their defense played a small role in their success ...and that's the real significant difference between the 2 clubs.

I am pretty sure the Avs finished higher in the standing last year.

Chicago has way better D tho.

- tmurph

This is late but..seriously? How did Colorado do in the playoffs?

Are you trolling or do you really believe this?

Holy cry baby - I think there are meds for those who have a hard time staying on topic, unless you didn't realize the topic is the "AVS"

Idk, lets use the arrow test again and find out.

Sharp >> Hertl
Toews >> Thornton
Hossa = Pavelski
Saad < Marleau
Richards <<< Couture
Kane >>> Burns

Thats 7 arrows for the Hawks, and 4 for the Sharks. Hawks have the advantage at 3 spots, Sharks at 2, and even at 1.

Hawks win again.

- SimpleJack

You're high.. & you can keep Saad's 47 points last season. I'll take Marleau's 70.

Kings top 2 lines are great....but if you think that's the difference between them and all the rest you don't know much about hockey.

All I said was I'd take the Kings top 2 lines in the playoffs over everyone other teams top 2 lines.

Not that they're the reason they won the Cup.

Yep.. and finished ahead of Chicago and St. Louis in the process. Man we suck.
- DutchCanSaveUs

You only won the division because St. Louis had a massive collapse at the end of the season due to injuries.
