I think he will get some spot in the organization. I am not sure if he is staying in US or going back to Finland but I can see him being a scout or player development person. As much as the Flyers get ridicule for their loyalty sometimes I think when it comes to after playing careers they do a great job of taking care of their own.

Only a certain segment ridicule them for it. I think among players and coaches this is one of the biggest selling points of the franchise.

Good point. Maybe he's named a scout in Scandinavia. I know it probably won't happen, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Flyers retire his number.

Yeah, they cant mess around with that. He could be an easy stroke candidate if the clot moved up in to his neck.

I want him to sail off in to the sunset back to the land of Odin. Live a full life on Valhalla and raise little Vikings.

Kimmo is easily one of the best D-men this organization has had. My favorites are as follows:

Desjardins, Timonen, Pronger (I know he was'nt here long but I have always been a huge fan of his)

Mark Howe says what?

I'm guessing you're not old enough to have watched Mark Steven Howe play professional ice hockey.

First Pronger, now Timonen two (possible) premature endings to otherwise great careers. I hate seeing players like this have to walk away from the game not on their own terms.

No, I dont care for any players before my era. I've seen some old games on NHL network and all but never saw him play that much. I started watching in the mid 90's.

I too, am sad.

But with sadness comes the hope for happiness.

I believe that Del Zotto is going to surprise. I can feel it.

I think that too. And I think you will see Luke Schenn really take a step forward this year in being a consistant shutdown guy this year. For some reason I just feel this team will suprise and that they will take on the identity of their head coach. A tough hardworking team that people hate to play against.

Any reports of anyone eating too many dumplings in the offseason? Or was Chip Berube's message received?

My feeling is that Schenn is a chicken and egg player. It seems that he needs bigger minutes to find his game, but cant find his game until he gets bigger minutes.

Maybe now they have no choice but to run him out there for 20 plus a night. Hopefully he responds positively.

I'm going to be drunk and belligerent. Then, I'm going to complain about the arena temperature.

You'll have to sit next to Jsaq. At least they won't throw out the whole row.

Don't kill me but these are pretty cool. A step in the right direction. I think the Pens jerseys now are one of the ugliest in the NHL.

So, in other words, you'll be watching the game from the Irish Pub by the 2nd period?
