Not if pancakes Penner and Byflugian are in the league. That average weight goes up to at least 210 |

Average weight of the 59 players listed on the Oilers website right now is 199lbs. That includes all the rookies at camp so pretty safe to say that the Average would be at least 200+ lbs once the roster is set. |

Just a quick thought on those numbers. I think 'average' skews things abit.
Overall, I'm sure the oilers aren't much smaller than even the sharks for example. Or even much younger. Especially now.
But two things come to mind quickly. Obviously guys like mark Fraser or Andy sutton have skewed the findings abit. But in relation to size in positions of skill, we haven't been anywhere near as heavy or big as them. Which has been the real problem.
I think of leaf fans chirping that they were technically younger than our squad a couple years back according to average. (And doing better than us which was the real crux)
Of course they were. We had sutton, khabby, horcoff etc skewing our age.
When it came to our core go to players in skill positions, we were averaging 21 or something silly. The leafs had far more experience.
I realize you weren't making any comment one way or another, but Just sayin |

I wouldn't have put half that effort in to prove a point to NIH. He can do his own (frank)ing research. |

So am I. Call it a man crush but I love listening to him talk about the Oilers. I have total confidence in him, and he is for sure a man of action. I guess that's why I don't hate on Eakins as much as others. If he's good enough for Mac T, I guess he's good enough for me. |

I definitely love what direction the team is trying to go in. It's great they recognize the deficiencies and are trying to fix it without selling the future. I really hope it all works soon. The lack of center depth is a little alarming, but it is fixable. Hopefully this team is tougher to play against this year and we can grind out some wins. |
