Hypothetically, and because I am bored, What would Ryan Johansson cost the Leafs?

I would assume JVR would be the focal point of the return, because his contract (skill vs. cap hit) is one of the best in the league. But would it have to be JVR and Kadri? That seems a little expensive to me.

The perfect partner for Dion, he will cover up for Phaneufs mistakes by chipping the puck out, no more Dion chasing a player through to the Zamboni entrance.

Wasn't that what Gunnarsson was supposed to do? I have this crazy thought maybe Phaneuf isn't as bad as we think and he's suffering from having to carry bottom pairing/AHL defenseman as his partners.

Apparently the pairings they will try first during camp/preseason will be:

Phaneuf-Polak
Gardiner-Robidas
Rielly-Franson

Or so Siegel says.

A center that has had one good season and another season where he was being a healthy scratch in the AHL. Also you have to consider JVR has an amazing contract as well.

I don't know if it's the ice time or the fact he plays so much while having to do his job plus some or the other guys and having forwards that don't know what defense is.

Okay one really good season but has also a had a couple decent seasons. RJ hasn't even had another decent season.
