Politics? How about nobody going to games and the team losing ridiculous amounts of money???
- Ihatebrianburke

It had a lot more to do with it.

Majority of support was in Northern Atlanta for the the Thrashers (mostly Northern transplants). There were people who stepped up who offered to purchase the Thrashers. They wanted to move them to Marietta GA. The owners would only sell if the group intended to buy the Atlanta Hawks as well. They did not want to do so.

The team was put into the city, which was a bad area to put them. Very little support in the city, plus the area is not the best. It is the same reason why the Braves are moving from Turner Field.

The original owners had no interest in owning the Thrashers and did nothing to help support the team. Not to mention there was so much dysfunction between themselves.

I guarantee you if the team move to Northern Atl, it would have had more success.

How many teams are without a starter and back up? I don't see any real vancancies.
- Jeropotato

maybe Minny, Harding broke his foot kicking a wall being pissed off at a team mate. They invited Byrz back as a PTO bc of this...with Kuemper maybe KHL bound without his 1 way contract, they would be rolling with a shakey Backstrom and Bryz if he makes the team as their tandem

Not to pick on Minny, but it would serve many of us well if those guys sh!t the bed this year.

Wild Fans: Chill out. That was a compliment.

- Jeropotato

I would be ok with them having a slow start to the season bc of the goalie situation, Avs will need all the help they can get to lock down a wild card spot this season.

Ok, hold still

Truly, he will be good for a sound bite or two, then the season will roll around and the beach ball will roll through his five whole.

Get a clue Ek. The oilers don't need or want another unproven left shot defenseman. Your rumour makes zero sense for the Oilers or the Bruins as they need to shed salary not an ELC.
You fail (e6)

- Ihatebrianburke

I think ek is talking boychuk not krug. Boychuk would be your number 1 d-man and Kelly would be a great 2way centre that you need. Five cup finals between the two of them would help your young stars and get you in the playoffs. The oilers as is will be booking t time early spring again.

I hope Varlamov has the worst season ever for the goalie, just because
of that t-shirt he thought was smart to wear.

If you are in North Atlanta, Marietta, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Smyrna, etc. Its really bad. I don't dare go I75/85/285 between the hours of 2-7 PM. If an accident happens forget about getting to your destination on time.

I am southwest of the city and traffic is not bad at all.

Add - For all of you walking dead nerds I am about 25 minutes from the set. It is its own city and they are doing some pretty cool stuff with it.

Either Chris Kelly or Boychuk would be great additions to the Oilers. They need vets for both spots.

Same here. MTL has Markov, Subban, Gilbert, and Beaulieu to move the puck/create offence. Don't need a tiny MABstyle player like Ellis.

If the Habs got Ellis they could probably send Subban down to Hamilton to make room for him. That seems like the most likely option, IMHO.

After next weeks game against the bruins I think subban and markov will be on the injured reserve along with a few diving forwards.
