Alright female doges, the season unofficially starts tomorrow. I need to know now however, will the team suck or be awesome? - BetterCallSaul
Both. More awesome though. |

When is any Toronto team not a roller coaster? Hopefully this year we end off our season going up. - JVR_42_PK81
I'm honestly torn about my desire for this team. I want to cheer them on to the playoffs, but I can't shake the feeling that this is the year to suck as hard as you possibly can. Like take it deep. Long and deep. Suck until you want to gag because you suck so hard, and let the benefits of sucking that hard help you forget about how hard you sucked. |

This is the best time of year for Leafs fans usually. We all still think it's possible for the Leafs to make the playoffs. |

I think we will have a good team this year. Good enough for playoffs.
I don't think we should suck. We got a good young team. And as for this years draft there is McDavid and Echiel but we won't et any of them. And after those two the rest of the first round if talent rich so it really dosnt matter when you pick. |

Leaf HAVE to make the playoffs this year. Specially with a weak eastern conference. |

I don't think it's weak as it's made out to be but it is for sure way weaker than the west.
I think we have improved our depth quite a lot. With some bounce back years and our younger players getting better I see a good season coming up. |

How can you expect a coach to change the systems when the players wont listen and refuse to change? - jbold
Tim wasn't wrong. Won't listen to coaches and overweight. Glorious combination. |

Hey buddy,
Boston, Pits, Tampa, Philly, Montreal, and NYR. And lets not forget the surprise teams like NJ and Washington.
There are the top eight IMO that the Leafs need to be better than. Toronto might get in, but likely 6th to 8th. First round will be a battle. |

He seems like he is in good condition on the ice so I don't see a problem there.
And with him as one if our best possesion players, rush player and best offensive player he deserves a say in the breakout plan. |

Pure speculation on your part it seems. |

No where in that article does he actually say any of that its all people running their mouth. You think a first year NHL coach is going to go somewhere and start bashing the leafs best player and telling everyone how he doesn't actually make decisions. |

But imagine if he was 15 pounds lighter how much better he could be. And just because he has the best numbers on an average / below average team doesn't mean he knows better than the coaches especially considering how the team has gone into tailspins year after year during his frequent streaks of disappearing. |

He doesn't just have the best numbers on the leafs, he has some of the best numbers in the league. Never have we heard on actual leaf person say he's over weight, not one. |

Ovechkin has some of the best numbers in the league too, doesn't mean he knows better than his coaches or has actually helped his teams win anything either.
You'd have to be blind not to see he's not in the best physical shape he could possibly be in. |

Why would a sports writer reveal the names of a bunch of minor hockey coaches who are acting as sources? |
