I would imagine fans would be more content to accept said criticism if once, just once, these journalists mentioned, said one thing positive about any one of the Leafs players. Like ever. Just once. It's like listening to Fakepartofme every day of your life.

The thing IMO that made the Beauch trade so lopsided was that Burke gave him back to the team he came from! They could have just re-signed him and had all 3 players
- TheThrill

A great trade that worked out for both teams.

I'd rather have the other 2 I mentioned.

I'd rather have Saad or Jenner over Rakell, but would take Gibson time and time again.

agreed. I'd take Beauch back in a heartbeat... though I wouldn't want to trade away the guys we got for him.

Were there any shinning stars in the rookie tourney for us that were unexpected ?

Findlay maybe?

we've got Bernier and Reimer who're just a few years older than him. I'd rather get more high-skilled forwards. More trade value, even if there isn't a spot for them on the roster.

Top line star probably should have a say in how the first line plays.
- Feeling Glucky?

no he shouldn't. when the top line gets outscored at ES, those guys need to STFU and listen to the new coach who was assigned the breakout task. you don't outright reject the idea before even seeing how it works in practice. the fact that Spott was not only told no but then relented before he's even coached a pre-season session is ridiculous. Kessel's a great player but that doesn't mean he should be allowed to pick and choose which strategies he adheres to.

I liked the Beauch signing and liked having him here.

But Lupul and Gardiner.....very happy to have them.

Im hoping lupul remains fairly healthy this year.

We don't know what "shape" he is in... being "in shape" is more to do with endurance, stamina etc and that doesn't seem to be an issue, unless you propose upping his minutes to play him 27 minutes a night. I don't give a flying Bozak how much he weighs, just that he stays fit and keeps performing, which so far isn't an issue. I'm much more concerned about the "in shape" guys like Lupul who can't stop getting injured, or Clarkson who has forgotten which side of the stick to hold. These so-called journalists are basically looking to create roblems where there are not any.

Does Phil put up great numbers yes.

Do you think he is in the best shape he can possibly be in. ? I don't. Never have. The article isn't creating anything I didn't already think.

I watch ever single game and he looks winded out there sometimes. More than he should. More than other top tier players.

He is overweight. No one can possibly deny that. I think if he wasn't he would be a better player. That's it. And every player has a responsibility to be doing everything they can to be the best they can.

I guess what I boils down to is I think Phil could be a 45 goal scorer who is content to score 35. Just my sense of the situation.

I agree with the above.

The only question I have about this story....is do we even know if it is true?

Maybe I've just been scarred by the Toskala/Raycroft years, but I'd rather have the stud goalie.

We'd just have to make sure that we then put his mother into witness protection to stop Feschuk from questioning her...

You're missing the words "allegedly", "supposedly" and "according to Feschuk's source's cousin's brother's dogwalker"

One of the minor-hockey coaches who was in attendance said Spott spoke of Kessel’s alleged hatred of coaches with his “tongue in cheek.”
