We don't know what "shape" he is in... being "in shape" is more to do with endurance, stamina etc and that doesn't seem to be an issue, unless you propose upping his minutes to play him 27 minutes a night. I don't give a flying Bozak how much he weighs, just that he stays fit and keeps performing, which so far isn't an issue. I'm much more concerned about the "in shape" guys like Lupul who can't stop getting injured, or Clarkson who has forgotten which side of the stick to hold. These so-called journalists are basically looking to create roblems where there are not any. - lumlums

Then again. Kessel LOVES streaking down the right wing and thats how he scores many goals, so im not surprised he doesnt want to skaate all the way to the let side to pick up a pass.
Im also very excited for Spotts new breakout. Wonder how it looks - jbold
My question is do they now have one breakout strategy for the Kessel line, and use Spott's for everyone else? Or just scrap the whole thing because 1 guy doesn't dig it? |

yeah I am sure Spott. the new guy on the block starts his Leaf career saying Kessel hates all coaches.. Hates Randy... Hates Spott already etc.. |

So now systems are based around one player? - TheThrill
Top line star probably should have a say in how the first line plays. |

LOL Can't disagree there. That was the female genitalia that called Reimer's mom, no?
Still, I hope the whole thing is overblown. I'd hate to think Kessel is that much of a wiener. - TheThrill
Yes, Feschuk is the very same female genitalia
To be honest, I'd think worse of Phil if he didn't voice his opinion if he disagreed. The biggest issue for me is maintaining possession and carrying the puck over the blue line instead of dumping it, and Phil is BY FAR the best on our team at this... |

For real, eh? I wasn't being facetious, I seriously don't know how a coaching staff would handle it. IMO that seems pretty primadonna-esque to play it that way |

It;s all about the article's spin on the matter.
Notice how Spott says Kessel is smart when it comes to this stuff, and how they reached a compromise?
They talked about it, Spott respected Kessel's reasoning, Kessel respected Spott's, and they found a solution that works with the system and the star scorer's skill set. |

Yeah by the end of the article, Feschuk was lookin pretty douchey. That's exactly what the team needs the day camp opens.. (frank) sakes |

has the skillset to be a 3rd/4th line guy.
So glad we spent a 1st on him when we drafted Broll 130 picks later. |

Yep, and the Ducks took Gibson with our pick. Fortunately we have some pretty solid goalie prospects, but I think that guy's gonna be a stud |

The thing IMO that made the Beauch trade so lopsided was that Burke gave him back to the team he came from! They could have just re-signed him and had all 3 players |
