Something like a 2yr/$8.0M deal split 3.5M/4.5M should have been able to get this done. Using Stamkos, Kane, and Toews as comparables for Johansen is obscene, whereas those two longer-term deals they mentioned are more in line with what Seguin, Benn, and Tavares have signed... which does seem considerably more reasonable on the surface.

Still, I'm sure the bad blood here is just with the blood-sucking agent - and not with Johansen himself. I wouldn't expect this to end with a trade anytime soon.

The media here is pretty awful, but that's a weak excuse. I'd say it was more about the "rebuild" and him wanting to play for a SC contender.

I think the title was misleading. From the interview it seemed pretty clear that he wanted out because he wanted to win, the media was just an annoying extra

Is it sad that I actually knew Jonathan Dwyer existed before this? Backup RB on the Arizona Cardinals. Has a pretty fat ass.
