How you been chet? - YzermanIsTheMan
hahah pretty good. parents took off this morning from a 5 day visit. they are continuing their roadtrip through southern ontario, through the states, north through Drumheller, over to Golden, then jasper towards Cold Lake to visit my brother for a few days, then they are heading back to Ottawa to visit me again .
So i'm actually quite tired from their trip. I haven't rested in almost three weeks, so I'll be going to bed nice and early tonight.
Hey, do you want to join the fantasy league? |

I would bank on him continuing, personally. 6'3 225lb 2 way centre vs. 5'10 scoring winger. I'd make the deal personally and feel pretty good about our centre depth going forward - ystoil
And what happens with LD and then Yak2 and Khaira? |

True story. How did you (frank) up you knee anyways? And what is it you do for work, that you can't work with a sore knee.....so I can decide if you are actually a wussy, or just being smart and safe. - ruttager17
I really don't know what happened with my knee. I've had issues since JV with it (its the main reason I stopped playing.) Just woke up yesterday with a sore knee and as the day went on at work, it got much much more painful. I work in retail in management. Not exactly a leg injury friendly environment running around on hard floors all day. But yeah, doctor says to just rest it and ice it for a week and see how it goes. |

LD is capable on the LW or give him 3C - soft minutes. Yak 2 and Khaira should go to the minors for the next couple years anyway. Neither are sure things.

Gregor brought up the cost of acquiring Johansen, and honestly, if contract disputes are still going bad, we should make the call.
Columbus made their offerings public:
Two year deal at $3 million per season.
Six years at $5.33 mill/season.
Eight years at $5.75 mill/season.
So what I would do is move Eberle + 2nd good asset for Johansen and sign him to a 2 year 5.5 mill per deal. To me that's a good balance between giving him the money he wants short term and lowering the term committed to him.
Signing Derek Morris also opens up the ability to move Petry if he isn't willing to sign long term. Maybe Petry is included in the deal for Johansen, they could use another right hand defender. - ystoil
I'd look at something around Ebs for Johansen. Johansen is a better fit for us. I wouldn't do a deal though until the contract is signed with Johansen. Last thing we need is for him to Richard around on us too. |

I'm kind of glad my parents are too lazy to visit me down here. Always some excuse, but that means I don't have to deal with parents in my own house.
And sure. I'm always up for showing you how badly I can mismanage a team. |

LD to the wing the other two I'm not too concerned. Can never have too many centers anyway. |

I can't really talk. I've got two trees cut up and sitting along the side of my house and I haven't gotten around to splitting them for firewood yet. |

Why would they deal him if he is signed though? Most teams and players can put things behind them. I would assume the same, look at ROR and Col.
Are we allowed to speak a bit with an RFA prior to the trade to get a ball park and then see if its something the Oilers are willing to do? |

I'm more saying we better have an agreement with him before he comes over. And yes you can talk to a RFA, how else would you offer sheet him?

Well, you don't actually talk to them. You send an offer negotiated through the agent without player contact, and the agent isn't "allowed" to communicate info about the offer/negotiations to the player until its final and in front of him for signing.
Its strange language. |

Never ever. If you're trading for Johansen, Cbus holds none of the cards in this situation.
You send them the best lowball, not a fair offer. |

oh no! Not too many good players! What ever will the team do with too many good players!
And the KGBeast and Khaira are still long shots. They both remind me of Lander like 2-3 years ago. |

I just can not see the jackets letting this kid go. He is the closest thing to a franchise player since Nash. |

You know how many teams are going to be on him? You get him for the cheapest you can, but I doubt you are getting him for peanuts. |
