I'm not trying to be a downer, I like all our young core players and think we picked them right, but when it comes to placing blame on the Oilers woes, we are all guilty of looking at the GM, former GM's, current and former head coaches, support players, goalies, God Damned Assistant coaches, equipment managers and training staff , any and everyone before considering as at least a remote possibility that we picked the wrong Horses to build around.

I'm more just saying if the player did go that MLSE would be fine.

And while I do agree the player is usually going to win, if Kessel is really being this stupid this early with a brand new assistant who knows what will happen.

It's one thing for a player to tell the coach in January that he's going to do things his way, but to do this now without even trying? That doesn't exactly happen often.

This isn't the Wings who's vet core told Babcock to watch them play their way and tweak it from there. This is one guy that has won nothing doing things his way for 8 years. You can really see why Boston had no issue moving him, his attitude was always there, just now it's getting made very public.

we were trending upwards in every category until Eakins came, then we didn't just slide, we completely nose dived. I've never blamed any seasons on any coaches until this ass hat Eakins came in. The coaches weren't the problem before, but it sure as (frank) was last year.

I wasn't going to worry about it until this year. I blame most of last year on Dubnyk. He shat the bed, the boys gave up. Then the Professor showed up and the guys had some new life in them.

I'd definitely go with those forward lines, maybe hold Joensuu. Lander/Pitlick/maybe Pakarinen instead. Draisaitl between 2 sort-of pests. Yak-Arco-Purcell I like. Yak-Arco had some chemistry, pass first guy in Purcell.

Weird that they'd stick Ference with Simpson while the other NHL guys are mostly paired with other NHLers.

Disagree. In the long run Gordon >Horcoff...but the Oilers did miss some of what he brought to the table.
Also, you can pin Yak on Eakins if you want, but Schultz regressed, Eberle was not as prolific,RNH just came off surgery, Gagner was a damaged case, and Dubnyk was at his worst.

I get that feeling you are firmly entrenched in the camp that thinks Eakins is solely responsible for the Oilers regression last year and that all other factors will be disregarded.
