Ryan Johansen is on another planet.
2 years ago he was flubbing between the AHL and the NHL, not deserving of a position on the big club.
He had one good year, to earn a new contract, IMO in the range of $4 - $5 per over 2 years, likely settling on 4.5M.
And he comes into negotiations wanting over $7 per on a long term deal. Then drops to $6.5M, and states that if he doesn't get that he'd leaving town on a bus with Kurt Overhardt.
I'd sit him for the season, not pay him, then trade him near the end or middle of the season. |

In all seriousness what do the canucks have to offer if it would come down to us trading RJ away. - Alexzanki
Guessing the Jackets would want one of Virtanen/Horvat for sure, 2015 first is likely a given, not sure what the Jackets needs are to fill the third piece. |

I'm not even a fan of the Jackets. But these youngsters running the show like this ruins the league for others.
The lockouts aren't just the owners fault.
And I am a huge RJ fan, love him on my team, but as soon as I see that me me me attitude, it's hard to support. |

Maybe he hates Columbus so much he'd rather sit a year and get traded than not get overpaid to play there? |

Such Canadian POVs. Columbus isn't the undesireable destination it was a few years ago, they have a ton of momentum as a team/organization. |

Ok. To stir up some controversy and conversation (same thing on this site), who are the top five centers in the NHL?
Crosby, Toews, Malkin, Datsyuk, Stamkos. |

John Davidson said the agent's demands was basically extortion. Do you extort money from the organization you want to play for? |

Are these in order? Cause if you, you may have opened up a poop storm with Malkin falling to fifth. |
