Unless something changes dramatically, Johansen is a 25 goal, 60 point guy.
That's nothing to sniff at, but it's not as though he's setting the world on fire with that type of production either. - BINGO!
It was 1 stinking year.
Does the name Cheechoo ring any bells?

Cheechoo was a first rounder? Did Cheechoo carry his line or was it that Joe guy? I guess Nick Foligno carried Ryan Johansen.
Horvat, Virtanen, Tanev, Lack, 1st for Foligno it is! |

Nope, his glue factor is too low - Nick_Dangles
Some of Ek's best stuff from the Callahan saga:
The Rangers are actively trying to trade Ryan Callahan. Their heart and soul. Their captain. Their glue.
His loss, especially mid-season, would be intensely damaging to a franchise that for some reason loves to damage their franchise needlessly.
So EVEN if you find Callahan's numbers don't work for your long range plan...there is no point in moving him and punting on a season that still is very much alive.
Does he test the market?
Based on all I am hearing, yes he does.
Where does he want to go?
My sources have been telling me since way, way back that the reason Callahan could be so confident in his demands was because he knew a team he wanted to play for who would pay him what he wanted....The Buffalo Sabres... With Callahan the conversation starts on July 1 in Buffalo.

Rangers did pretty well without that sticky white warm glue. |

Are you saying they didn't end up "punting" on the season? |

In all seriousness what do the canucks have to offer if it would come down to us trading RJ away. |

A whole lotta draft picks because the canucks are on their way down and the blue jackets are on the way up. |

I'd trade Burrows and Sestito but adding the 2nd is too much. Pundits are predicting the Canucks will suck so that 2nd rounder will be in the 31-35 range. - hankthetank
