Edmonton sends an offer sheet of 8.5 million for 7 years. Does Columbus match? - Ihatebrianburke
I guess fans in Edmonton are used to overpaying guys coming out of their ELC.
If I am Columbus, I take those lottery picks and don't think twice. |

So you're seriously hoping the Oilers offer sheet Johansen a 7 year 8.5 million dollar contract. What is that 3 firsts(maybe 4) 2 or 3 seconds and a heavy contract that he more than likely won't live up too for a player who only had one good season? I'd love to have the guy but that'd be a giant risk I wouldn't be willing to take. CBJ would almost be stupid to not let him go for that. - Cptmjl
The Oilers have given up on drafting in the 1st round; they've tried that.
(just kidding, take a joke everyone) |

Obviously you have no clue about offer sheet compensation. Maybe you should just sit this one out |

And give up 4 First Round Picks in the process? - StargateSG1
Why do we need more draft picks that May or may not pan out? |

Because your team is not called the Kings or the Hawks.

Exactly! Time to move some of those picks for quality NHL's to support the kids. The oil already have a core, it's time to fill some of those holes. |

Yes because adding a 30 goal scoring center will make the 4-1sts lottery pics. Good one |

Also it's too bad the contract talks are overshadowing the fact that the cbj prospects won the traverse city tournament on a perfect 4-0 record. - Alexzanki

Hey Ek.
Don't you get the feeling that Johansen doesn't want to be in Clb? Similar to the Kane situation in Winnipeg? - bloatedmosquito
I do |
|
|
|
I'd offer him 3 or 4 years, 6.5 million per
a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd is cheap compensation for a 22 year old blue chip player
Columbus needs to learn you can't pay Dubinsky 5.8 million and lowball a guy like Johansen with 3.5 |

Huh? Maybe I should sit this one out? I guess someone got their feathers ruffled? I asked a serious question no reason to get pissy. Well then so you're willing to give up four first round picks on top of a grossly inflated salary on a player that had one good season? |

Why stop at 4 years @ $6.5 million? 47 goals in 149 career games. That's $10 million+ range. The guy has shown he can put up big numbers consistently. Time for him to cash in. |

Huh? - Streit2ThePoint
It's been the practice of over paying right after the ELC is expired that's started this trend and will lead the owners to demand it to change after this CBA is done |
