You wouldn't be talking about any of the moving parts of the Fabled "Nordic" line would you?

We collectively gushed about Paajarvi, Harski, Omark, and Lander as bad if not worse than these Flames fans talk about Gudreau, Poirrier, Granlund, etc... and for good reason too. Those guys performed or showed potential at every level until they depended on in the NHL. It was pretty much all bed sh!tting from then on in for those Jabronis.

Well I'm hoping there are more TJ Brodie's with this next group than Daniel Tkachuk/Rico Fata's...

Right on I'm finally on days off and need something to read do you think the big bad Wolf makes the team?
- The_Janitor

Zero... a year in a "real" pro league (the AHL) and maybe next year. The only way is if all the Flames "tough guys" are decimated by injury.

I would like to point out that Burke has gone out and said that he will replace injured players with similar role players from the farm.

So that means in Mcgrattan is injured he might get a callup. Or if Calgary plays Vancouver we might have the starting lineup of

Mcgrattan - Wolf - Bollig
England - Sieloff

That might be the scariest line in hockey..... ever

Despite my most current write up...because I do feel there is a big chance for a few young guys to push out some older...here's what I think were likely going to see opening night.

Curtis Glencross – Matt Stajan – Jiri Hudler
Johnny Gaudreau – Sean Monahan – David Jones
Joe Colborne – Mikael Backlund – Mason Raymond
Brian McGrattan/David Wolf – Lance Bouma – Brandon Bollig

*Sven Baertschi, Paul Byron, Bryce Van Brabant, David Wolf

Mark Giordano – TJ Brodie
Ladislav Smid – Kris Russell
Dennis Wideman – Deryk Engelland

*Tyler Wotherspoon

He will be waiting back in the dressing room for them.

When that happened I was thinking one of two things would happen. The canucks would rally behind their coach/leader and just catch fire. Or implode.

Im glad the second option happened

Was listening to the Fan this am and Duhatschek said the Nucks are good enough to make the playoffs... if they were in the east, maybe. they'll be in tough to leapfrog anyone

I agree with this but Wideman will play the third most minutes on the team making him a top 4 dman.

Mcgrattan will be on the team because he would need to pass waivers to go down to the AHL. A team would pick him up because he is the best fighter in the NHL right now. I also think Bryce Van Brabant wont make the team. Likely be either Knight or Ferland.

Sven will start in the AHL and be the first callup when there is an injury. When this happens he will play top 6 minutes and never see the AHL again

I'm going to go with granlund or byron being called up first.

Having missed Seto, i would say bump all the LW down 1 line, move Hudler over to 1st line LW, put Seto in the RW with them or swap with Raymond. Colborne and Mony were developing some chemistry last year, i wouldn't mind seeing them continue. That said, I still think there is a trade or possibly 2 to happen before the season gets going. Glenx salary with his ability could be very attractive to one of those teams over the cap right now.

bumping colborne down to 4th wouldn't work either. raymond and him are similar in that regard. Just not edgy enough for that roll or physical enough.

I'd rather jones shifts down or out. he really did nothing last year

Yep. Have no idea what happened that one year in the standings, but I do remember Macintyre going at it with McGrattan a couple times.

Yep, as bad as he was for most his career there was a time where he was decent. Wouldn't dominate like Mac did, but wouldn't get his ass kicked every time like Bucky did.
